BRIDE ROVERS GAA NOTESEAST CORK GAA -A CENTURY OLDThere was a great gathering in the harbour town of Cobh last Saturday to mark the Centenary of the founding of the East Cork GAA Divisional Board. It was exactly 100 years to the day- April 13th 1924, since a small group of Gaels gathered in Cobh Town Hall with an idea of forming a Board to govern Gaelic Games in East Cork County Board. U-13 Boys Start SeasonA good start to the year for the our U13 boys in League 2 on Saturday on a lovely sunny day. Always a tough game expected against Carrigtwohill and this was no different. First League Win for SeniorsWe welcomed Mallow to Castlelyons last Thursday in our 3rd league outing for the year. We welcomed back a few players to the starting team that have been missing from the previous league outings due to injuries. In what was a decent team performance we controlled the game for large parts of the game and ended up winning by ten points on a scoreline of 0-22 to 0-13. U-10 Boys Start SeasonOur U10 hurlers got their year off to a good start on Saturday morning, traveling to Carrigtwohill. Difficult conditions for the boys as they had to play 4 games in sunshine and they're not used to that this year, with rain and mud being more par for the course.
