Division 4 Hurling

The panel returned to winning ways in this competition in the final two games of the group stages, the saying of goals win games was never truer than in these results, more than the results a major positive was the number of players that got game time over the two games:

- Fe 15

U16 Division 5 league.

On Wednesday last we had our latest game in the u16 division 5 league away to Carrigaline. We travelled light in numbers but not in confidence and determination despite results not going our way in this competition so far. Right from the start the lads got into their stride and we could see a noticeable improvement in both application and skill from all involved. We were getting scores easier than earlier in the campaign and defending doggedly. At half time we were a bit ahead and we told the lads to keep up the tempo and to concentrate on points for the second period. In the end we were 4-12 to 2-9 winners. The previous games definitely stood to the team in getting up to pace in this grade. Well done lads.

U15 Division 1 league

On Sunday morning last, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ibane Gaels to Midleton for our third match in this competition. Ibane Gaels are the juvenile section of Barryroe and Adrigeen Rangers clubs, two clubs with proud and competitive hurling pedigrees. This was a step into the unknown as our paths hadn’t crossed before. The lads put in a fine performance running up a good score. While we were comfortable enough on the scoreboard, there are a few things that we will be working on in training over the coming weeks. Well done lads.

Féile 2025

The groups have been announced for Féile. We are pitted against neighbours Kilta Óg and Kilworth/Araglin, who will be hosting. A couple of right tough battles ahead for the lads. The action starts at the North Cork venue on Bank Holiday Monday at 10:30. Thanks again to Atif from Fourstar Pizza Midleton for sponsoring this year’s team.

- Fé 11

It was a busy weekend for our team. We took on the St Finbarrs on Saturday in a hurling blitz. Then on Sunday morning we welcomed Ballygunner to Park South for a morning's hurling. All the games were extremely competitive and has given us a lot of focus for training in the coming weeks.

- Fe 6

The U6s had their first full gaelic football session last Saturday morning. Lots of fun and games were had as always. Its time to get the hurleys and helmets back out as we return to the small ball this Saturday morning at 10am in Clonmult Memorial Park.

Ladies Football

Junior League

Our Junior Ladies were away to Douglas on a beautiful Tuesday evening. Great Football and some excellent scores saw this team come away with a victory. Final Score Midleton 4-06 Douglas 0-08.

Intermediate League

Our Intermediate team continued their winning ways after their long journey on Sunday to Dunmanway. A tough battle but the girls dominated throughout. Final score Midleton 3-08 Dunmanway 1-08.

Camogie

Under 7’s:

An exciting Saturday afternoon for our U7 s as they had their first Camogie blitz on Saturday 26th in glorious sunshine in Blackrock. The girls had great fun and really got stuck in. Well done girls and coaches.. the first of many.

U13

Our U13 girls were busy this week as this years season began with three matches played against Sars, Watergrasshill and Valley Rovers. Looking forward to the season ahead. Well done girls.

Féile Camogie

Midleton 2 competed in the Division 3 Feile semi final against Eire Og on a beautiful evening of sunshine at Castleroad on Tuesday 29th of April. These girls progressed from their group stage with two brilliant wins. The girls battled hard all night and kept going to the last minute but came up short against a very good Eire Og side. This was a great experience for all the girls who will have plenty more opportunity’s in feile next year and the year after. Well done to Lauren, our captain on the night! Thanks to all the support who came out for them tonight.

Well done to our own Gabby Smith, part of the Cork 16 B team through to the All Ireland final

Intermediate Camogie League:

Having won the Premier Junior League last year we were promoted up to the Intermediate League in 2025. This was a big step up in the standard require debut as ever our girls have met the challenge head on .

Midleton 1-18

Douglas  3-05

In our first  ever game on March 31st at the Intermediate grade we had a superb performance to beat Douglas by 7 points. After a steady start we switched off at the back for a 10 mins spell and got hit with 3 quick goals which saw us fall behind, but we recovered to lead 1-09 to 3-02 at the break. In the 2nd half we took control and ran out convincing and deserving winners. Roisín Mc Manus lead the scoring  with 5 points (2fs), Rebecca Cronin was also in excellent form scoring 1-02 from play. Abbie Foley had 4 points (1f) and then Sadhbh Beausany , KateO'Sullivan and Aoife Fitzgerald  all had 2 points each. Lucy Wallace closed out the scoring with a point . Overall a very satisfactory  performance on the night and great to get off to a winning start .

Kilbrittain /Timolegaue  0-13

Midleton                        0-15

Our second outing on the 7th of April in the Intermediate league took us to Kilbrittain. This was a really hard fought and very physical game with no quarter asked or given by either team. Despite trailing by a point or 2 for most of the game the girls dug in and carved out a great win. A monster free by Aoife Fitzgerald  put us ahead in injury time and another by Roisin McManus sealed the win for us. 2 wins from 2 games was the perfect return for the effort put in by all the girls.

Midleton 1-06

Valley Rovers 2-08

We met a very determined and experienced team on the 14th of April at home. We got off to a good start with a great goal from Rachel Ryan yet we still trailed by 2 points at HT. 2 early points in the 2nd half by Sadhbh Beausang  and Roisin McManus had us on level terms. But we conceded a goal from long range and try as we might to close the gap and raise a green flag, we were unable to do so on the night. Jodie Keegan O'Connell scored a good point late on. While our performance on the night didn't lack in effort it was slightly off what we are capable of and at this level you will get punished for any dropoff.  Still 2 wins from 3 games had us well in contention.

Midleton 3-09

Sars       1-13

We met Sars on April 21st at home on Easter Monday. This was a key game for us to get back on track after the Valley Rovers defeat  and the girls returned to winning ways with an excellent performance throughout. The scores were tied 1-06 each at the break , Abbie Foley scoring our goal after excellent work from Rebecca Cronin. 2nd half goals from Rebecca Cronin and Lucy Wallace got us over the line in what was an excellent game of camogie. Roisin McManus 2 points (1f), Abbie Foley 1-01, Lucy Wallace 1-02 , Kate O'Sullivan 0-02, Sadhbh Beausang 0-02 and Rebecca Cronin 1-0 were our scorers on the night. Kate Saunderson was excellent at full back throughout. So after 4 games we have 3 wins  - with 3 games still to go we have it in our own hands to qualify for a League Final  - which at the first year of competing at this grade would be a brilliant achievement. Our next game is V Sliabh Rua in Midleton on Monday April 28th @ 19:20.
