Best Wishes

Best wishes to Ger Manley, who announced this week that he will be stepping down as Manager of the Cork Senior Camogie team. A huge well done to Ger on all his success during his time in charge, particularly the fantastic achievement of winning the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final. Thank you for all your hard work, dedication and commitment to Cork Camogie. Wishing you every success in the future.

Friends of the Magpies

Myhome is our current Featured Friend of the Magpies. Many thanks for your ongoing support which allows the Club to continue to grow the facilities for all members of our GAA, Camogie and Ladies Gaelic Football communities. Park South continues to be developed, with the surrounding walkway now in place for all looking to get the step counts up!  The lit 3G and grass pitches are enabling games to be played across all codes right into the depths of autumn / winter. Once again, your support is very much appreciated.

First up was a 2 point defeat to St. Finbarrs in the P1 Hurling Championship in Togher. Excellent start to the game where we led 2-04 to 0-03 after 15 mins but a soft goal followed by a few unanswered points we found ourselves a point down at the short whistle. The second half was very much score for score where we had a couple of goal chances at the end but unfortunately didn't make them count. Scorers on the night were, Mason Richards 1-03, Zac Walsh 0-06 (5f), Harry Lutz 1-01, Andrew McSweeney 0-02, Jack McSweeney 0-01, Tadhg Cronin 0-01, Sam Mulcahy 0-01, Ewan Quirke Lee 0-01. The Barrs are now in the semi final after beating Shandrum in the next round where they await the winners of Ballincollig and Seandun. On the opposite side The Glen will play the winners of Sars and Blackrock.

Our second hurling team had a fantastic win against Ballincollig on Wednesday evening under lights. Our lads brought great determination and intensity from the moment the ball was thrown in and came out deserving winners on the night. It truly was a great championship match and credit to both teams for a tough and competitive but fair game. Scorers on the night were, Jack Flynn 1-05 (3f), Callan McCarthy 1-01, Conor Grant 0-02, Emmet Bowen 0-02 (2f), Micheal McManus 0-01, Eoin McSweeney 0-01. Next up we await the winners of Sars and Blackrock in the semi final.

Our footballers lost out to Erins Own recently in a local derby match at Caherlag. Trailing by a goal at half time, 1-06 to 0-06, try as we may we couldn't seem to bridge the gap eventhough we created plenty of chances throughout the game. Jack Twohig gave us a lifeline with 15 minutes to go after a well taken goal but it wasnt to be our night and Erins Own closed out the match winning by 4 points at the long whistle. Scorers on the night were, Jack Twohig 1-01, Mason Richards 0-03, Daniel Geraghty 0-03, Ewan Quirke Lee 0-01.

Fé14

Well done to our  Fe14s on there great win in the Div4A Football League Final v Bishopstown on the 3G this Morning. Final Score Midleton 4-07 Bishopstown 1-02

Camogie

Minor

Huge congratulations to our Minor Camogie team, captained by Julie on a heroic semi-final win! In brutal, deteriorating conditions, the whole team delivered a masterclass in grit and determination on Monday 26th Oct.  The backs set the tone in an outstanding first half, keeping Bishopstown to just six points, while the forward line made the most of their chances, scoring 1–04 to secure a tight 1-point lead at the break. As the weather worsened in the second half, our defense stayed incredibly resolute, restricting Bishopstown to merely two additional points. Also a huge penalty save from our goalie Ciara kept us in the game. Adding four points of our own at the other end, the girls sealed a well-deserved 1–08 to 0–08 victory, rightfully earning their spot in the final on November 7th in Castle Road V Blarney. Well done to the full panel, coaches and management.
