GLENVILLE SUMMER SKILLS PROGRAMME

Glenville GAA’s two-day Summer Skills Programme proved to be a tremendous success, with nearly 80 boys and girls taking part.

The glorious sunshine provided ideal conditions as the young players enjoyed two action-packed days of coaching, games and fun activities. Throughout the programme, the children had opportunities to learn and develop skills in Football, Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Football.

It was wonderful to see so many children participating, making new friends and enjoying Gaelic games together. Their enthusiasm, energy and excellent behaviour contributed greatly to the success of the programme.

The club extends a sincere thank-you to all the coaches and helpers who gave their time and worked tirelessly over the two days. Their organisation, encouragement and commitment ensured that every child received a warm welcome and was able to participate fully.

We also thank the parents and guardians for their support and everyone who helped with the organisation and running of the programme.

Most importantly, thank you to all the boys and girls who attended and made the Glenville GAA Summer Skills Programme such an enjoyable and memorable occasion. We hope everyone had a fantastic time and look forward to welcoming them back to Glenville again.

CONGRATULATIONS AVA

Heartiest congratulations to Ava Fitzgerald and the Cork senior camogie team following their thrilling victory over Galway in Sunday’s All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship final at Croke Park.

Ava lined out at wing-back and produced an assured performance as Cork reclaimed the O’Duffy Cup with a dramatic 2-14 to 0-19 victory. It was a particularly special occasion for Ava as she made her first senior All-Ireland final start on the biggest stage in the game.

The victory completes a remarkable year for Ava, who was also part of the Cork team that captured the All-Ireland U23 title earlier in the season. Her progress through the intercounty ranks and the important role she has earned with the Cork senior team are a tremendous credit to her talent, determination and commitment.

Ava’s achievement is a source of enormous pride throughout Glenville. She is a wonderful sporting role model for the many young players in our community and has shown what can be achieved through dedication and hard work.

Everyone at Glenville GAA extends warm congratulations to Ava, her family, her teammates and the Cork management team on bringing the O’Duffy Cup back to Leeside. We hope Ava and all involved thoroughly enjoy the celebrations after a memorable and richly deserved success.

Upcoming Fixtures 

A busy weekend lies ahead for Glenville teams at adult and juvenile level.

JUVENILE FIXTURES

On Thursday, our U12 footballers travel to Glen Rovers to face St Nicholas at 6.30pm, while the U13 team welcomes St Michael’s to Glenville at the same time.

The U18 footballers travel to Mitchelstown on Friday evening for a 7pm throw-in.

On Saturday, our U18 team faces St Finbarr’s in Togher at 11am, followed by the U14 team’s game against Lisgoold in Lisgoold at noon.

Our U12 footballers are also in action away to St Michael’s at noon on Sunday.

PREMIER JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Glenville’s Premier Junior footballers take on Cobh in the Premier Junior Football Championship at Lisgoold on Saturday at 6.30pm.

We wish the players and management the very best of luck. We encourage as many supporters as possible to travel to Lisgoold and get behind the team in this important championship fixture.

JUNIOR B CHAMPIONSHIP

On Sunday, Glenville hosts Cobh in the Junior B Football Championship at Lisgoold at 11.30am. Best of luck to the players and management.

GLENVILLE GAA LOTTO

The latest Glenville GAA Lotto draw took place in Kades Kounty. The numbers drawn were 6, 25, 29 and 32.

There was no winner of the €13,800 jackpot. The four €20 lucky-dip winners were Cathy Bowe, Kevin Egan, Liam and Cheffy, and Amy Mills. Congratulations to each of this week’s winners.

The jackpot will now rise to €13,900 for the next draw, which will again take place in Kades Kounty. Tickets cost €2 each or three for €5 and can be purchased from the usual local outlets and club sellers. Supporters can also enter online at www.smartlotto.ie/Glenville-gaa.

The weekly lotto provides vital funding for the continued running and development of Glenville GAA. Every ticket purchased makes an important contribution to the club and helps us to support our adult and juvenile teams.
