Midleton Hurling and Football, Ladies Football and Camogie Club Notes July 01st 2026
01 July, 2026
Good Luck Riain and Cork in Sunday's All-Ireland Final
Very best of luck to our own Riain McCormack in Sunday’s All-Ireland Minor Football Final against Tyrone in Newbridge. Riain and his teammates have been in great form all year, and there is no doubt they are fully prepared for the challenge ahead. We wish Riain and the Cork minor footballers every success as they bid for All-Ireland glory on Sunday. The match will be available to watch on TG4 with a throw in time of 2pm.
In a recent conversation, Colm O’Neill, Midleton’s only All-Ireland Minor Football Championship winner, also sent his best wishes to Riain ahead of the final. Colm said he would be absolutely delighted to see Riain become the next Midleton player to win an All-Ireland minor football medal and join a very exclusive club in the town’s sporting history.

Senior All-Ireland Hurling Semi Final
Wishing Tommy O Connell, Terence McCarthy and all the Cork Hurling team the very best of luck this Saturday against Galway in the All-Ireland Semi Final. The match will be shown live on RTE 2 with a throw in time of 3.30pm.
M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling/Camogie Inter-Provincial League
CBS Midleton welcomed teams from across the country on Saturday as it hosted the Munster leg of the M. Donnelly Wheelchair Hurling and Camogie League, with all four provinces taking part in the opening round of the M. Donnelly Interprovincial Competition.
The six senior fixtures produced a series of highly competitive encounters, with Munster recording one victory, Leinster and Ulster claiming two wins each, while the meeting of Leinster and Ulster ended in a well-contested draw. The standard of play throughout the day was excellent, with players showcasing the skill, determination and excitement that wheelchair hurling and camogie continue to deliver.
In the junior fixture, Munster faced Cobh GAA/Camogie Club and retained the Sean Fitzgerald Memorial Trophy following another entertaining contest. Credit is due to Cobh for providing outstanding opposition in a game played in a terrific sporting spirit.
The successful staging of the event was made possible through the efforts of Midleton GAA's many volunteers. Sincere thanks go to Charlie McAllister for is great rendition of Amhrán Na bhFiann, medics Ber Cotter and Derek Power, photographer Andrew Foley, videographers Ethan Foley and Peter Dowling, catering by Ger "King" Power, parking volunteers Sean O'Brien, Pa Beausang and James Murphy, and CBS Deputy Principal Tom Casey for their invaluable support throughout the day.
A special mention to our juvenile hurling and camogie players who acted as guards of honour for the opening ceremony and of course our wonderful Magpies All-Star players who were very capable flagbearers on the day.
Munster GAA Vice Chairperson Sean O'Regan attended the event, highlighting the continued support for the growth of wheelchair hurling and camogie across the province.
Attention now turns to Round 2 of the competition, which will take place in Carlow in late July.

Under 14
Congratulations to our fantastic group of girls who won the U15C Imokilly Final on Tuesday last 23rd June at home in Park South versus a strong Sars team. It was a tough game in very warm weather and Sars gave a strong performance but our girls put in phenomenal effort and were very deserving winners on the night. We are very proud of this group of girls who have reached a few finals over the last year but never gave up and brought all their experience together to win this final - and all the better to win it on our home ground! Thank you to the U13 girls who have been a part of this group throughout the league and contributed greatly to this win and also to all parents and supporters who turned up to cheer on the girls. Our next game is away against Aghabullouge in our first game of the U14 Div1b Summer league on Tuesday 7th July. All support is very welcome!
Juvenile
Fé11
Midleton U-11 boys had 2 great hurling matches at Park South on Saturday last against Erins Own. 26 Midleton players took part in two tough but fair matches. Both games were played in a brilliant spirit, with the lads showing great teamwork, determination and skill from start to finish. Well done to all the boys for representing Midleton so well.
Ladies Football
U16 league v Aghada 29th June
It was certainly a game of two halves as our U16s played another game in their league. The first half we struggled to get into the game and found it difficult to get our marking and positioning right. We regrouped at half time and quickly found our rhythm in the second half and found ourselves getting our scores on the board after some excellant plays. Unfortunatley we ran out of time to find the winning score. Well done to Aghada on the night.
