Fé16

We had two football matches this week with both teams out in league action. First up we travelled to Caherlag to take on Erin’s Own in the D4 league. We were very slow out of the traps and were not really preforming to the levels we were reaching in previous games. Our opponents took advantage of our poor 1st half display and clocked up a strong lead at halftime. During the break we told the lads to park the first half and try and win the second half. To be fair the lads completely upped the performance and did outscore Erin’s Own in the second half. Despite the disappointment of not gaining the league points at least the lads 2nd half performance will give us some encouragement as the league goes on.

On Monday we had a P2 league match away against Carrigaline. We were attempting to gain our first points in this campaign but we did everything except win this match!!! A great start with our lads playing some great football all over the field. We defended resolutely and were going great in attack even if we may have left a few scores behind us. We were very pleased with all aspects of the first half but warned of a second half onslaught, which duly came. They pegged back our lead and in a frantic 4th quarter they overtook us. Despite our lads getting leggy we were the ones pushing in the end as we tried really hard to get a winning score. We were very unlucky to go down by 2 points in the end.

Carrigaline 3-12 Midleton 3-10

More disappointment but more encouraging performances. Thanks lads for the mighty effort in both games.

Cork Minor Football Championship 2026

Camogie

Under 11’s:

Our U11 girls played their second blitz of the season on Saturday 18th of April hosting Blackrock and Douglas. Between the three clubs we had 90 girls playing. A brilliant display all round wit the girls hard work in training really paying off.

Under 12’s:

Our U12’s took to the new 3G for their first competitive league game V Ballincollig. From start to finish they showed incredible skill and teamwork with all their hard work paying off as they came away with a fantastic win. A brilliant achievement for this young team and a day they won’t forget. Well done girls.

Under 14’s:

Our U14 P2 camogie team travelled to Ballynoe on Tuesday 14th April for the second round of the U14 P2 league. Despite poor weather conditions, the girls showed excellent skill and teamwork, setting the tone from the very first whistle. They maintained control of the game and worked tirelessly together to secure a well-deserved win. Thank you to our Captain on the night Eve to St. Catherine’s for hosting the match and to the parents for travelling and their support. Next in this league this team will play Crosshaven at home.

Under 14’s:

Our U14 girls played their second match of the U14 B 21B league away to Carrigaline on Saturday 18th of April in Carrigaline GAA. It was a beautiful sunny morning and our U14 girls who were very well assisted with a number of players form the U13 and U12 teams, fought a good battle against the wind going into half time 2 goals down. Though they went into the second half strongly and held off any further scores from Carrigaline the sliotar just didn’t hit the back of the net despite few opportunities and great efforts form all the players. Apart from the result it was a good game and there was a lot learnt which the girls will bring to their last game of this round which is away to Inniscarra on May 16th. All support is greatly appreciated.

Under 15’s:

Great start to the season for our U15 camogie girls in their U16B league game with a brilliant game against Nemo Rangers on the 15th of April. There was no shortage of scores with a strong team display from start to finish. The work rate and teamwork were

clear to see all over the pitch. Thanks to Lily for captaining. A positive opening to the campaign. Well done girls.

Under 16’s:
