MIDLETON 5-19 KILLEAGH 1-10
Our senior hurlers made the short journey to Killeagh on Thursday night last in terrible conditions for their third game in this year’s county hurling league and a very young Magpies side came away with a very deserving comprehensive victory to make it three league wins from three. Killeagh opened brightly and led 0-2 to 0-1 early on before Pa White struck for the first of his three goals and from that point we were never headed again. By the 22nd minute we led 1-8 to 0-3, with our nine scores coming from nine different scorers. Ross O’Regan and Paul Connaughton added further green flags and by the half-time whistle we led by 3-10 to 0-4 with our scores coming from Ross O’Regan 1-1, Pa White and Paul Connaughton 1-0 each, Cian Stack, Mikey Finn and Aaron Mulcahy 0-2 each, Evan McCarthy, Evan McGrath and Conor Morley 0-1 each.
Mikey Finn opened the second-half scoring before Killeagh struck for their goal to narrow the gap but the Magpies kicked on again with Pa White adding two goals and a point and a host of points from Mikey Finn to see us to a good win in very testing conditions.
Next up is a trip to Blackpool on Tuesday night next, April 14 to take on Glen Rovers at 7.30pm.
Midleton: Pa White 3-1, Mikey Finn 0-9 (0-6 f, 0-1 ‘65), Ross O’Regan 1-1, Paul Connaughton 1-0, Cian Stack, Conor Morley and Aaron Mulcahy 0-2 each, Evan McGrath, Evan McCarthy 0-1 each.

Ladies Football
Well done to our U15 Féile Football team who won the East Cork Féile Competition on Easter Monday. After an exhausting and action-packed day at Rockban GAA Club, our team emerged as worthy champions following a thrilling and dramatic final. The journey to the final was impressive, as the team secured victories in all their round-robin matches against Rockban, St. Nicks, and Erin’s Own. These strong performances set up a highly anticipated rematch with Rockban in the final. The game itself proved to be a tense and closely contested battle. As the second half drew to a close, it seemed that victory was within our grasp. However, in a heartbreaking twist, Rockban found the net in the final seconds to level the match at 1-02 apiece, forcing the game into 10 minutes of extra time. With a strong wind advantage in the first half of extra time, our team pushed hard but were unable to capitalize with the scores they needed. Rockban took advantage of the conditions and struck for a goal, putting them ahead. Showing incredible determination and resilience, our girls responded brilliantly, scoring a crucial goal to bring the sides level once again. In the second half of extra time, with just five minutes remaining, the team dug deep and demonstrated remarkable composure under pressure. They produced a couple of excellent scores at a critical stage, edging ahead in the dying moments.
Despite a tense finish, the team held firm to secure a memorable victory on a final scoreline of 3-05 to 3-02. It was a performance defined by grit, teamwork, and never giving up—qualities that truly earned them the title of champions.
Congratulatons to our Club Player Abi who was part of the Cork U14B team who won the Johnny Hayes Platinum Final on Saturday.
