Great Efforts from Glenville Féile Teams Highlight Busy Week for Club

Strong Féile 2 Campaign for Glenville Team 2

Glenville’s Team 2 produced a strong Féile 2 campaign over two days, reaching the final after a series of determined performances.
The campaign began in Bishopstown, where Glenville secured two impressive victories to progress to the semi-finals. The lads overcame St. Nicks in their opening game before following up with another excellent performance against Bishopstown. The team showed great determination and teamwork throughout both games to book their place in the knockout stages.
Following the delay to the semi-final, Glenville travelled to Nemo Rangers where they delivered another strong performance, defeating their opponents on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-4. The lads worked hard throughout the game, showing great discipline and teamwork to secure their place in the final.
In the final, Glenville faced a strong Ballincollig side. In a tight and competitive contest, Glenville battled throughout but ultimately lost out by a single goal, with the final score reading Ballincollig 2-2, Glenville 1-2.
Despite the narrow defeat, it was an excellent Féile campaign for the team, with the players showing great commitment, teamwork and determination over the two days of competition.
A special word of thanks to the parents and supporters who travelled and supported the team throughout the Féile. Their encouragement and backing was greatly appreciated by players and management alike.
Well done to all the players and management on a very positive Féile 2 campaign with plenty to build on for the rest of the season.

Glenville Premier 2 Féile Campaign Ends After Narrow Semi-Final Defeat

It was a busy and encouraging Féile weekend for Glenville’s Premier 2 team, with the lads producing some excellent football before narrowly losing out in the semi-final.
The campaign began with a brilliant morning in Aghada, where Glenville recorded two impressive victories. The lads first overcame Fermoy in a strong performance before facing hosts Aghada in their second game. Playing against the wind in both second halves, Glenville showed great determination and composure to see out both games.
The victory over Aghada came in dramatic fashion, with Danny Murphy finding the net with the last kick of the game to seal the win and secure Glenville’s place in the semi-final.
In Monday’s semi-final, Glenville faced Kilta Óg in another closely contested encounter. The lads battled throughout and showed great teamwork and resilience, but despite a strong performance, Glenville narrowly lost out by a single point at the final whistle.
While disappointment was inevitable, there is plenty for the players and management to be proud of following a very positive Féile campaign. The team represented the club with great commitment and spirit throughout.
Well done to all the players and management, and thanks also to the parents and supporters for their continued encouragement over the Féile weekend.

In the end, neither side could be separated, with honours even after a lively and enjoyable contest.
