Glenville Notes (23rd Mar)
- Mar 23,2026
Great start for Minors
Glenville 0-19, Kiltha Óg 1-7.
Glenville’s Minor Division 4 footballers got their league campaign off to a winning start with a comfortable victory over a spirited Kiltha Óg side on home soil.
It was a strong squad effort, with 24 players togged out, showing great commitment and depth. After a solid opening half, Glenville really found their rhythm after the break, producing an excellent display of kicking and teamwork to pull clear.
Best wishes to Jayden Hennebry, Donnacha O’Leary, Billy Graham and Olivia Graham on their recent injuries. We wish them all a speedy recovery and hope to see them back on the playing field in the not too distant future.
U14s
Glenville’s under-14 footballers produced an excellent display on home soil on Sunday, turning in a strong all-round performance to record a deserved victory over Kinsale.
The team showed great energy, skill and teamwork throughout, with every player contributing to an impressive win. It was a performance full of determination and commitment, and one that reflected the hard work being done by both the players and their coaches.
Well done to all involved on a very good result and an encouraging display.
Glenville’s under-14 Division 4 footballers travelled to Aghada where a very young but enthusiastic side gave a good account of themselves.
Despite the result not going their way, the team showed great effort, determination and spirit throughout, with plenty of positives to take from the performance.
Well done to all the players and coaches for their commitment and attitude.

Glenville GAA Congratulate Cork on Promotion Success
Glenville GAA would like to extend sincere congratulations to the Cork Senior Football team on their excellent victory over Tyrone, which secured promotion back to Division 1 for the first time in a decade.
It was a significant achievement for the panel and management, showing resilience and composure in a hard-fought contest. Cork produced a strong and disciplined performance, with key scores at crucial stages helping them to see out the result.
The result marks a major step forward for Cork football and is a testament to the work being done both on and off the field.
As a club, we are delighted to see Cork competing strongly once again at the highest level, providing inspiration for players throughout the county.
We wish the team, management and all involved the very best of luck in the upcoming final and hope they can continue their excellent run of form.
Registration Reminder – Glenville GAA
As the 2026 season gathers momentum across all grades, we remind all players and parents that registration on Foireann is essential before any player can train or take part in matches.
From our thriving U6–U11 section, through the many juvenile teams we now field at every grade, right up to our three adult teams — every player must be fully registered to be eligible and insured for the year ahead.
With league competitions already underway and championship just around the corner, please don’t leave registration until the last minute. Taking a few minutes now avoids difficulties later and helps ensure a smooth start to the season for everyone.
Your support keeps the club organised, compliant and ready to focus on football.
Please log on to Foireann and complete registration as soon as possible.
€20,000 Rebels’ Bounty Win Highlights Value for Watergrasshill Glenville
There was significant excitement locally last year when a Watergrasshill Glenville member won the €20,000 top monthly prize in the Rebels’ Bounty draw.
The win underlined the potential of Cork GAA’s official fundraising initiative, which awards 30 prizes every month, including a €20,000 top prize and a €100,000 grand prize each December.
For Watergrasshill Glenville, participation in the draw provides important financial support across all sections of the club, from the youngest juvenile teams through to adult level.
Chairperson Peter Curtin said the local win demonstrated the value of the initiative.
“Last year’s €20,000 prize showed that Rebels’ Bounty is a genuine opportunity for our own members and supporters,” he said. At the same time, the funds raised through participation help us to continue developing coaching, facilities and opportunities for players across all age groups. It’s a scheme that benefits both the individual and the club.”
Supporters can enter at https://gaacork.ie/rebelsbounty/ and must select Watergrasshill Glenville when registering to ensure their contribution benefits the combined club.
As last year proved, big wins can happen close to home.
Glenville Dads & Lads
Glenville's Dads & Lads football continues on the club Astro pitch, providing a great opportunity for fathers and young players to enjoy football together in a relaxed and fun setting.
The initiative focuses on participation and enjoyment, encouraging children to play alongside their dads while developing skills, confidence and a love of the game. It has proven to be a fantastic way to strengthen bonds both on and off the pitch, while also building a strong sense of community within the club.
All are welcome to come along and get involved.
