Junior Football Division 3

Midleton 3-14 Vs Russell Rovers 0-07 Sunday Feb 15th 2026

Great start to the season for our second Junior Football team. Twenty‑two players turned out on our 3G pitch for the opening game of the Junior football year against Russell Rovers, and the performance did not disappoint. Mark Daly was outstanding in goal, commanding the square and helping us secure the vast majority of our own kickouts. Our backline delivered a superb collective display, restricting Russell Rovers to just seven scores—a brilliant defensive benchmark to set for the year ahead.

Further up the field, our midfield and forwards applied relentless pressure every time the opposition were in possession. That work rate not only limited their scoring opportunities but also helped us put up an impressive 3–14 of our own.

A first game and a first win—exactly the start we wanted. Onwards and upwards from here.

Scorers: Odhran Dennigan 1-05, Nicky Coughlan 0-04, Eamon Horgan 1-01, Ben O’Neill 1-00, Calum O’Brien 0-02, Adam O’Conor 0-01 & James McSweeney 0-01

Under 21 'A' Football Development League

Midleton 4-12 Vs Russell Rovers 0-09

Our final game of this very successful U21 league game turned out to be our best performance of the campaign. A great all-round display from every player on the panel resulted in a satisfying win against our neighbours. The standard of football played by both teams on the day was enjoyable to watch, Our U21-A football team are now setup for a run at the championship later on in the year.

Panel: Peadar Egan, Fionn Bohan, Niall Lang, Tadgh Bohan, Liam McGrath, Noah Cahill, Sean McSharry, Senan Carroll, McSweeney, Nicholas Coughlan, Moloney, Sean Cronin, Bradley O Brien, Odhran Dennigan, O Brien, Scott Dunlea, Tadhg O Leary Hayes , Foley, Adam O’Connor, Eoin Higgins, Odhran Rabbitte, Alex Howard, Dara Scanlon & Kieran O’Brien.

Under 21 'C' Football Development League

Midleton 1-07 Vs Castlelyons 3-07

A ding‑dong battle on a Friday night saw our U21-C) footballers face Castlelyons on our 3G pitch in what was the final game of the C League. This league has provided a fantastic opportunity to develop some of our younger players, and they have certainly risen to the challenge.

Across the three games, the team amassed an impressive total of 9‑24 — a phenomenal return. Every player played their part in what was ultimately a very successful three‑week campaign. Well done to all involved

Rian McCormack captain’s Cork Minor Footballers in a recent Leinster League Game.

Rian’s recent captaincy of a Cork football team was history in the making, as it marked the first time a Midleton player had captained a Cork football side since the great Jim Power led Midleton & Cork to All-Ireland success back in 1892. Cork won on a scoreline of 3-16 Offaly 0-07. Andrew, Rian’s father, proudly notes that Rian comes from strong footballing stock — his granduncle Andy won an All-Ireland minor medal with Offaly in 1964.
