U21-A Football East Cork League Sat Jan 24th 2026
Our Midleton U21s opened their 2026 U21‑A East Cork League campaign with a 1-6 to 1-15 defeat to St Colmcilles. Despite the result, there were positive signs throughout. Midleton enjoyed a strong spell in the first half, dominating possession for the final 20 minutes, and several players delivered notable performances.
The defensive unit, led by Alex Moloney, Dara Scanlon and Evan McGrath, stood out with consistent, composed play. Further up the field, Sean Cronin and Eoin Higgins showed well, while Calum O’Brien and Sean McSharry were the most prominent among the forwards.
Midleton Scorers: Sean McSharry: 6 points (1, 1f & 2x2pts), Eoin Higgins: 1–0
U21-C East Cork Football League Sun Jan 25th 2026
Midleton’s growing football strength was on display as the club successfully fielded a second U21 team in the C‑grade East Cork League—an achievement considering this grade represents the first team for many other clubs.
Midleton started brightly, dominating the opening 10 minutes, with early goals from Scott Dunlea and Kieran O’Brien. The forwards continued to create further goal chances during this strong spell. Throughout the first half, Jack Sweeney, Eoin Ahern, Josh Foley, and Odhran Rabbitte were particularly prominent, and just before the break Odhran Dennigan added a third Midleton goal. A fourth goal from Peadar Egan midway through the second half cut the deficit to a single point. The whole panel of players put in a great effort, including James McSweeney Scott Dunlea & Breanainn O’Dailigh but despite the spirited effort, Lisgoold finished stronger, winning 4-16 to 4-8.
Midleton Scorers: Odhran Dennigan: 1-03, Kieran O’Brien: 1-02, Peadar Egan: 1-01, Scott Dunlea: 1-00, Rory Nolan: 0-01, Sean Cronin 0-01
