Glenville GAA have launched their Last Person Standing competition for the 2026 National Football League, with a €500 prize for the eventual winner.
The competition is open to all ages and costs €10 to enter. Participants select one team each week from the National Football League fixtures. If the chosen team wins, the participant progresses to the next round; a loss or draw results in elimination. Each team may only be selected once over the course of the competition.

This fundraiser is being run in support of Glenville GAA’s Adult Section teams for the 2026 season, and the club has expressed its appreciation for the continued support from players, members, families and the wider community.

Glenville GAA Make Strong Start in Every Step Counts Challenge
Glenville GAA are once again taking part in the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs – Every Step Counts Steps Challenge, a nationwide initiative promoting physical activity, wellbeing and community connection during the winter months.
The challenge runs from Wednesday 7 January to Wednesday 11 February, with clubs aiming to collectively walk 4,000 kilometres in five weeks, roughly the distance around Ireland.
The club has made an excellent start to this year’s challenge, already logging nearly 700 kilometres in the opening days. Participants track their steps using the MyLife by Irish Life app, which allows individuals to monitor their own progress while also contributing to Glenville GAA’s total on Munster and national leaderboards.
The challenge is open to everyone in the community. Participants do not need to be playing members, and family members, friends and supporters are all encouraged to take part. People can still join the challenge at any stage, with every step contributing to the overall club total.
To get involved, participants can download the free MyLife by Irish Life app, go to the Social section, select Challenges, choose Munster GAA Healthy Clubs – Steps Challenge, and then select Glenville GAA.
All clubs that reach the 4,000km target will be entered into a prize draw, with three prizes of €2,500 per province, which can be used to support club and community initiatives.
Glenville GAA have participated in the challenge for a number of years, and it continues to be an inclusive and motivating way to stay active and connected during January and February.

Glenville GAA have received an excellent response to their ongoing scrap metal collection, which is raising funds for additional equipment for the club gym.
Members of the community are encouraged to continue clearing out sheds and yards of any unwanted metal items. All money raised from the collection is ring-fenced specifically for improving gym facilities, supporting player welfare across the club.
A skip is in place at the Astro Pitch side of Glenville GAA grounds, and items can be dropped off there. A collection service is available for very heavy items, with volunteers on hand to assist where needed.
The club has outlined that metals such as steel, copper, aluminium and lead are accepted, along with items such as old gates, fridges, boilers, sinks, radiators, cable and washing machines. Plastic, rubber, tyres, timber, paint cans, hazardous materials and general rubbish cannot be accepted.
