BRIDE ROVERS GAA NOTES.

 HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
It’s the end of a memorable, remarkable and historic year for the Bride Rovers GAA Club.  For just the third time in our 97 year history the Club has captured an adult County Hurling Title. Our Senior Hurlers having lost 4 semi finals in a row finally made it to the decider against Castlelyons.  Wins over Blarney and Courcey Rovers followed by a serious reverse against the Hill saw us go ‘the scenic route’ via a quarter final. Winning that match against Inniscarra set up another East Cork Derby game against Carrigtwohill. A vital hook by Cillian Tobin midway through the first half had a huge bearing on the outcome. At the time Carrig were on top and we were under a bit of pressure. That hook was brilliant hurling.  We gradually got on top and went on to win well.  After that game Castlelyons were impressive winners over Blarney in the second semi.  That was the first week end in October. The next month will never be forgotten by Bride Rovers people. A postponement, a draw and then a one-point victory -truly ‘memories are made of this’.  The build-up, the buzz, the banter, the slagging, the craic, the fun -do you remember? Remember -will we ever forget! That replayed final was such a mixture of emotions – from satisfaction, to near despair and then when Davy Barry shot over the winning point, sheer ecstasy. It was simply pure magic. Winning the County and the League Title and the Tony Walsh Cup was a remarkable treble and reaching the East Cork Junior Final with our second team was also a new milestone.   Thanks again to all our players, management teams, Club Officers, supporters and anyone who helped in any way during the year.  On behalf of the Bride Rovers GAA Club may I extend best wishes to all for a Happy, Healthy and Holy Christmas Season and all the very best for the New Year of 2026.
