U16 East Cork Final Friday Nov 14th v Whitescross

This game was postponed due to the weather. Once a new date is confirmed we will post details. Our Minor County Final v Douglas will take place within the next fortnight. Again all details will be published once confirmed.

Camogie

Well done to our minor camogie girls who had a great win in our County semifinal on Sunday 9th of Nov against Clonakilty on a scoreline of 0-13 to 1-04. We have now qualified for the county Minor A final on Saturday 15th of Nov at 2 pm in Castle Road against St Catherines. Best of luck to the panel, coaches and management.

Juvenile

Fe15

Two county finals on the horizon.

Another busy and ultimately successful weekend for the lads recently as we were out in two semi finals.

First up on Saturday we travelled to Bishopstown to take on Seandún in the Premier 1 hurling County Semifinal. We started strongly and went into a bit of a lead. Thankfully we had that lead because for about 35 minutes we only scored 1 point as the ever improving opposition ate away at our lead. They finally caught up with us in the dying embers of the game to force extra time. In fairness to the lads they upped everything in both periods of extra time to come away 2-10 to 12 points victors. Be it a dip in our own concentration or our opponents getting a better foothold in the game, that kind of lull will definitely be more fatal in the final against what will be a seriously motivated and skilful Ballincollig side. But credit to the lads when it was vital they did get over the line and we know we have a lot to improve on for this side’s second P1 county final in succession.

Buoyed by the previous days heroics our second team travelled to Caherlag to play the hosts, Erin’s Own in the Division 4 County Semi Final. In as good as conditions as possible for this time of year the lads had a good bit of defending to do at the start of the match, which they did manfully. The lead was swapped a few times during the first half as we were beginning to settle better in to the match. We were a point up at half time. We upped the performance a good bit in the second half and with a great spread of scorers we ran out 2-12 to 6 points winners.

Great to have everyone involved going forward with two hurling finals and a P2 football semi final to train for. No confirmed dates for any of these but the weekend of the 22nd looks likely for the hurling finals. Thanks again to all the lads for getting us through both challenges and particularly to the Fe14s who helped enormously.

A lot done… but a lot also to be done.

Fé11

Last Sunday morning we had our end of season activity for the Fé 11 squad. We travelled to Belgooly and played a round of Hurlygolf followed by pizzas. Players and coaches alike had a great time but some of the score cards returned would suggest we have some incredibly good Hurlygolfers of addition is a problem for some of the boys!
