Lets Celebrate With Ciarán

After last week's announcement of the 2025 All Stars team, there is every reason to celebrate as Ciarán has been named as our club's very first recipient in this prestigious awards scheme. It's due recognition as our man produced another stellar season in the county jersey.

To celebrate we have a photo opportunity for everyone - but in particular the younger generation at 10am on this Saturday morning. A big thanks to Ciarán for sharing his success with our community. Please join us in the Astro Turf pitch from 10am on this Saturday.

Then, on Saturday 29th November, our annual end of season club gathering will take place at Cliffords Bar from 8pm 'till late with music by Bandjaxed. Finger food will be served. It's another opportunity for us to share in Ciarán's great achievement. Our annual player of the year and club person of the year awards will also be presented. So mark this date in your diary. Hope to see a great turn out.

AGM

Another important event in our club AGM which will be held on Thursday November 27th at 8.15pm in the School Hall. We urge all club members to make an effort to be present.

Remembrance Mass

Following the positive reaction to our Centenary Year Remembrance Mass, the club is hoping to make this an annual event going forward. Thus, on this Sunday November 16th, 9.45am Mass in Mogeely will remember all our past members and supporters with special involvement from current club members in the ceremony.

Under 21 - 2026

Our under 21 football team, which next year will feature no less than 9 players moving up from the under 16 age bracket, will as usual be first into action in the new competitive season.

A forthcoming County Board directive has moved the championship from early season to late June/early July for all divisions. However, in the meantime, the good news is that the East Cork Board have plans in the pipeline to introduce a new look league competition which would be a welcome addition to the under 21 football calendar. Word has it that this will be played in late January and through February.

Inter County 2026

The new inter county hurling season sees the reintroduction of the Co Op Superstores League which will see Cork play Limerick away at 7pm on Wednesday January 7th and Clare at home on Monday 12th - 7pm.

Tipperary, Kerry and Waterford will contest the other group with the respective table toppers due to meet in the Final on Saturday 17th.

The following weekend, the Cork hurlers begin their defence of their Allianz League title with a home match against Waterford on Sunday 25th - 3.45pm. The footballers host Cavan in the first part of a double header at 1.30pm.

Then, on Sunday, February 1st the Cork hurlers are away to Galway with the footballers in Louth. The remainder of the hurling group games consist of home games against Tipperary and Offaly with away trips to Limerick and Kilkenny in between. So plenty of interesting games ahead.

Best Wishes To Camogie Team

Our very best wishes go to the Castlemartyr Junior Camogie team who travel to play Adare in the provincial club championship on this coming Sunday ...1pm.
Castlemartyr were crowned county champions last month and now begin their chase for more silverware.

Facilities

Finally, another step in the progression of our facilities was witnessed last week with work beginning on our new meeting/function room and kitchen area building. Great to see continued development in the changing face of our home base.
