CO-SUPERSTORES PSHC FINAL OCT 19TH 2025
MIDLETON 1-14 SARSFIELDS 2-18
Our senior hurlers contested their third County Final in five years on Sunday last when they took on East Cork rivals and familiar foes, Sarsfields before an attendance of 11,740 at Supervalu Pairc Uí Chaoimh.
Unfortunately on the day it wasn’t to be as our boys’ effort came up just short. We played against the strong wind in the first-half and even though Sars got off to a fast start, an Evan McGrath goal (on his championship debut) in the 11th had us right back in the game.
At the end of the opening quarter there were just two points in it as Sars led by 0-5 to 1-0.
Magpie points from Mikey Finn (F), Cormac Walsh and Cormac Beausang followed in the second quarter but at the half-time break we trailed by six on a scoreline of 1-9 to 1-3.
A fifth of the day for Mikey Finn had the score at 1-13 to 1-8 at the three quarters of an hour mark and when Pa White raised another white flag moments later the gap was down to four and Black and White supporters began to sense that a comeback like was mustered in the quarter-final and semi-final wins over Glen Rovers and Blackrock might be on again, but unfortunately that was as close as we got and when James Sweeney added his and his team’s second goal of the day the writing was on the wall.
Our lads battled to the final whistle but it was Sars’ day as they landed their second title in three years.
A big thank you to all who followed this team throughout the year and again on Sunday in such big numbers, it is much appreciated by all involved.
A big thank you to the players and management team who put in a savage effort all season and the very best wishes in their recoveries to Conor Lehane and Eoin Moloney.
Magpies Abú.

Our Junior Ladies travelled to Nemo on Sunday morning to play in the 2c County Final. After a slow start we found ourselves behind but battled hard to get the scores on the board. The second half started better for us and we did narrow the deficit but unfortunately we could not get on top of Nemo. Well done Ladies on getting to the final.
