Glenville Notes (4th Aug)

Premier 2 Football League
Glenville 3-4 | Fermoy 1-8

Glenville were in action yesterday evening against Fermoy in a crucial Premier 2 League clash. With 7 points already on the board from four games, a win would seal our spot in the League Cup Final — and hopes were high after strong recent championship displays against Kinsale and Carrigtwohill.

Unfortunately, the performance didn’t hit the heights we’ve come to expect. A sluggish start, too many unforced errors, and a general lack of intensity left us looking out of sorts across the pitch. It was a disjointed display, and both players and management will no doubt take plenty of lessons into the weeks ahead.

That said, credit where it’s due — despite a below-par showing, Glenville dug deep and eked out a narrow win.

A special word of support to Ronan, who picked up a nasty-looking injury during the game. Wishing him a speedy recovery — we look forward to seeing his trademark swashbuckling style back in Glenville colours, both on the football and hurling fields, very soon

New Robotic Mower Installed at Glenville GAA Grounds

A major new addition to the club’s facilities is the recent installation of a state-of-the-art robotic pitch-cutting mower at Glenville GAA Grounds.

This high-tech equipment represents a significant investment, and we wish to extend a sincere thank you to all our Lotto contributors, whose continued support makes projects like this possible. Your contributions are helping to maintain and improve the quality of our pitches for players of all ages.

To ensure the mower can operate effectively, we ask all team mentors and players to please remove portable goalposts, flags, and equipment from the pitch surface after every training session and match. Leaving equipment on the field can interfere with the robot’s ability to do its job.

Thanks for your cooperation and continued support in keeping Glenville GAA grounds in top condition!
