Cul Camp

Our 2025 Cúl Camp came to a close on Friday last. Once again it was a hugh success. Many thanks to our head Co-ordinator Gráinne O Brien, volunteers Mariead Beausang, Mary Quinn, Gillian Murphy and Oisin Cotter and all the coaches and helpers who without them the camp would not take place. An enmormous amount of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the camp. We look forward to next year !

Juvenile

Fe 16

The panel completed their final league competitions in the past number of weeks.

P1 Football

Results continued not to go our way in this competition when we recently played Douglas away. The depth of the squad continues to be tested and players gaining experience which will hopefully stand to them in the forthcoming championship games. There was no lacking in work rate and effort and the outcomes could have been different if we had converted some of our chances.

P1 Hurling

In our final league group game played in Clonmult Memorial Park, the panel had a good result over Blackrock. As with our previous games in this competition the platform for the result was the work rate and determination shown by all of the players from the throw in until the final whistle.

Final Score: Midleton 3.20 – Na Piarsaigh 0.11

Forthcoming Fixtures:

The outcome of the positive league results is that the panel have a number of League Finals in the coming weeks, it would be great to have as much support for the players as possible as they build towards their championship fixtures later in the month.

Details at the time of writing are as follows:

Division 4 Football – Sunday 6th July at 16.30 vs Erins Own in Ballinacurra.

Premier 1 Hurling – Monday 7th July vs Sarsfields – Venue and Time to be confirmed.

Division 4 Hurling – Friday 11th July vs Ballincollig – Venue and Time to be confirmed

The Fe16 panel from their league final. Well done to the U16’s who came out victors on the night on a scoreline 3-23 to 0-12.

Fe 15

On Sunday evening we entertained Cloughduv in the fe 15 division 1 league. We started with quite awind to our back so we needed a good start. Thisw e kept the opposition very much in the game. At half time we told the lads that we would have to play even better in the second half to make sure to maintain our lead. This the lads duly did and weirdly we scored the same in the second half as the first. We ended up very convincing winners against a depleted Cloughduv who to be fair fought to the end. We are top of this division but we will have plenty to work on to try and keep our position withplenty of top sides in both groups in this division. Well done lads for the efforts.

Football was on the agenda previous week with both teams lining out. On Sunday evening the 15th of June we went up to Douglas to play our fifth match in the U16 football division 5 league. There was a sense of déjà vu about this game as we were ultra competitive in the first half and our opponents taking over in the second half as was the case in the last couple of outings. The wind, which we had in the first half, was definitely a major factor and we played some nice football assisted by the elements. We went in at the short whistle on level terms and we thought with a similar performance we would be in with a chance of taking the points. Alas our opponents definitely upped it while playing with the wind and started to drift away from us on the score board. The lads to be fair never dropped the heads and tried to the end even though we ended shipping a pretty heavy defeat. Thanks Aaron for filling in and playing mighty!!

On Monday the 16th evening we travelled to Caherlag to play Erin’s Own in the Fe15 Group 2a league. This was expected to be a close affair as we were level in points going into the game and they had been playing a level above us in previous years. This game ended up being anything but competitive with our lads giving a top class performance, winning their battles all over the field and scoring nearly at will. All around the field we were completely on top and we conceded our lowest tally in years. In the end we were very comfortable winners chipping in with a massive score. Well done on the effort lads in both matches and remember you learn more from defeat than an easy win so back training again lads for the next outings.

Fe 14

Great win for our Fé14 P1 team this evening away to Bandon. Down a point at half time our lads dug deep playing into a strong wind in the second half to win by a point. Final Score: Bandon 3-11, Midleton 3-12
