Senior Munster Hurling Champions 2025
Congratulations to Conor, Tommy, Bríon and all of the Cork players and management who were crowned Munster Senior Hurling Champions last Saturday evening after a rollarcoaster of a game in the Gaelic grounds. An incredible game saw the sides level 17 times throughout the evening. A draw after full time and a draw after extra time saw the winners decided by a penalty shoot out. Definitely one for the history books. The team now have a 4 week break with the All Ireland semi final scheduled for July 5th at 5pm.

RED FM COUNTY HURLING LEAGUE DIVISION 2
MIDLETON 1-21 BALLYMARTLE 0-13
The Magpie senior hurlers made it seven league wins from eight games on Tuesday night at Clonmult Memorial Park in front of a fine attendance against Ballymartle.
There was little to choose between the sides in the opening quarter after which we led by 0-5 to 0-4 but we but on great burst at the start of the second quarter and ten points in a row saw us lead by 0-15 to 0-4 but Ballymartle finished the half well to cut the gap to eight (0-15 to 0-7) at the halfway point. Our first-half scores came from Cormac Beausang 0-5 (two ‘65s), Killian McDermott 0-3, Pa White and Mikey Finn 0-2 each, Sean O’Meara, Luke O’Farell and Cormac Walsh 0-1 each.
We got off to a flying start to the second-half with a Sean O’Meara point and a Pa White goal to push us well clear. The visiting side continued to battle hard and their goalkeeper was in fine form throughout but further points Cormac Walsh (2), Cormac Walsh (2) and Ross O’Regan saw us claim a much needed win in our quest to win promotion out of Division 2 this term.
We now have just one league game remaining. We face Killeagh, who are also well in the mix for promotion, on Friday, June 27th at home in Clonmult Memorial Park at 7.30pm. The maths are simple, win and we are promoted and will play in the league final.
Scorers: Cormacl Beausang 0-7 (0-2 65), Pa White 1-2, Killian McDermott and Cormac Walsh 0-3 each, Sean O’Meara and Mikey Finn 0-2 each, Luke O’Farrell and Ross O’Regan 0-1 each.

We travelled to Watergrasshill for our penultimate league game on Tuesday the 10th of June. The Hill got a couple of early goals but we felt our way into it and by half time we were trailing 2-9 to 0-14. We got level a few times in the second half but the Hill hit a purple patch and went 3 clear. But in the last 10 minutes we hit 3 goals and came away with the points.
Our final league game is against Killeagh this Sunday, the 15th in Clonmult at 2.30pm. Results dependent we could make the final in this division.

Fé15
We had just one game this week. We travelled to Glanmire to play the hosts in the Fe16 Division 5 football league. This was our fourth game in this competition and we had 4 points on the board.
We started brightly playing some good football with good performances all over the field. We went in at the break 1-6 a piece. On the resumption we started quite well getting a couple of scores. Unfortunately for us our opponents where increasing in confidence as the match wore on and were definitely scoring more frequently and freely. We seemed to run out of steam in the last quarter be it a lack of fitness or improvement by Glanmire but our performance definitely diminished as the match neared its conclusion. In the we were defeated 2-19 to 1-13.
If we continued our first half display we would be a match for anyone in this competition so we will have to work on a few things to make sure we can play consistently for the hour in future. Thanks to all the lads for their efforts in particular Micheal who came up from the year below and preformed great. A little note also to thank the ref for being helpful, patient and informative in going through the new rules with the lads and the sideline.

We kept our championship hopes alive after a fantastic victory over Glen Rovers last Friday evening. After losing the first round to Douglas by the narrowest of margins, 3-08 to 3-07, our lads knew they had to bounce back in a do or die affair and that they did. Down a couple of regulars due to injury and holidays it certainly showed the strength of our panel which was very pleasing to witness. There was passion, desire, workrate, hunger on view all over the pitch from 1 to 15 and our young magpies refused to be denied on the night. This win leaves us in 3rd place on 2pts after 2 games played in group 2 of 5 teams, trailing Sars and Douglas who have 6pts and 4pts respectively from 3 games played and Glen Rovers and Bandon on zero points after 2 games played. Next up for us on Friday 20th June is a must win match with Sars in Riverstown. All support would be much appreciated. Special word of thanks to Tommy O'Connell being ever present on the line last Friday evening warming up with the lads and giving a few words of encouragement before and during the game. Delighted to see himself, Conor Lehane and Brion Saunderson win the Munster Senior Hurling Championship against Limerick on Saturday evening in an epic battle. Well done from all involved in this u14 group. It was well and truly deserved.
Fé 6 Boys

Camogie
U14 B2 League Final
Inniscarra: 4:07 Midleton 1:06
On Friday evening 6th June, Midleton’s U13 camogie team put in a courageous performance in the U14 B2 League final against a more experienced Inniscarra side. Despite facing a physical and tactical challenge, Midleton showed immense resilience and determination throughout the contest. Played at the Camogie Headquarters, Castle Road Blackrock, the final had a fitting stage for a battle of skill and perseverance. Inniscarra started strongly, using their strength to take control early on racing into a 2 goal lead in the opening 10 minutes. Midleton, however, refused to be intimidated, battling fiercely for every possession and defending valiantly against sustained pressure. Their perseverance paid off when they found the back of the net early in the 2nd half, igniting a spirited second-half response. For much of the match, Midleton were right in the thick of it, matching Inniscarra stride for stride and showing tremendous grit. But as the old saying goes, goals win games, and Inniscarra’s ability to convert chances into goals ultimately proved decisive. In the final ten minutes, Midleton began to run out of steam, with their opponents taking advantage to pull away and seal the win.Despite the result, this team can take immense pride in their efforts—not just in this game, but across the entire league campaign. Facing older opposition was never going to be easy, but Midleton demonstrated heart and talent that promises a bright future ahead. A tough result, but an inspiring display!
Ladies Football
U14
Well done to the u14 football team who completed the group phase of the East Cork league with two wins over the weekend. First up on Friday night was a trip to Cobh and the 14 girls available on the night put in a great performance to come out on top on a scoreline of 6-5 to 1-6. Next up on Monday was a home game against Lisgoold. The squad was again low on numbers with with holidays and injuries but a big thanks must go to the six u13s called up on the night. In the game the team played some excellent football over the hour but at half time despite playing with the wind were only 1 point up. A strong performance in the 2nd half saw the team secure a win 3-10 to 2-4. This team has now qualified for a league final and quarter final of the County Championship later in the summer. Well done girls on a great achievement and best of luck for the rest of the season.
