Glenville U14 Team 2 v Youghal
Our second team lined out against Youghal this evening in Glenville, with perfect conditions for football. Glenville started strongly, showing great teamwork and sharp passing throughout. First-half goals from Cian Murphy and Joey Cotter, supported by excellent play from Andrew and Fionn, helped establish a solid lead by the break.
The team kept up the intensity in the second half with more positive football and strong defending across the pitch. We finished out deserving winners on a scoreline of 5-10 to 3-5, booking our place in the league final later this summer.
U15 Football League
Glenville 2.09
Youghal 3.13
Glenville made the trip to the seaside town of Youghal on Thursday evening last on what was a beautiful evening for a football game. Facing a very good Youghal side our lads found the going tough throughout the 1st half and trailed 2.07 to 1.02 at the break.
A revitalised Glenville side took the game to our opponents from the 2nd half throw in and a really good effort from our boys kept the game in the melting pot, but Youghal finished the stronger and finished with a couple of scores to win the game.
Great credit to our lads who performed admirably, especially in that 2nd half against a very strong Youghal side.
Thanks to Youghal for a great game and Well done to our lads on a great effort.
