LADIES FOOTBALL

COUNTY JUNIOR A FINAL

Wishing our Junior A ladies panel and their management team, the very best of luck this Saturday when they play Dohenys in the County Championship Final. Please come along to Cloughduv GAA club to show you support for this incredible team. They have worked so hard in their preparations and deserve a big crowd behind them on the day. Good luck ladies.

UNDER 12S

Our U-12 Black Team hosted Inch Rovers on a beautiful evening in Ballinacurra this week. A fanstastic performance by the girls who battled to end. Well done to Inch who secured a narrow win.

UNDER 16S

Well to to our U-16 girls that took part in the Lower Harbour Blitz on Sunday.

They all did incredibly well especially the girls who joined us from the U13 ranks. Thanks to Aoise for captaining the side. Well done all we are very proud of you all.

MINORS

Hard luck to our Minor panel who battled hard against Youghal last Saturday evening in the East Cork Championship. 24 players all for equal game time on the night but luck was not on our side. A great effort put in by you all.

CAMOGIE

UNDER 12S

Well done to our U-12s who played two challenge matches away against Killeagh early last Saturday morning. Killeagh were strong opponents but the girls held their own and we had two tough matches which were beneficial and rounded off a great season of camogie for us. A special thanks to the four U-11 girls who travelled with us (Fiadh, Liadain, Lauren and Emily) and were a great addition to our teams on the day. Well done girls.

UNDER 13S

Victory for our U-13 team who played Aghabullogue in the quarter-final of the U-14B Championship last Saturday morning in Park South.

It was a very tight match in the first-half, with plenty of Midleton chances well defended. Midleton were able to pull away in the second-half with excellent anticipation and persistence. Onward to the semi-final against Douglas and well done to Aghabullogue on a fine sporting game.

UNDER 14S

A huge congratulations to the U-14 team on their impressive victory over Brian Dillons on Sunday evening at home in Park South in the Autumn league series.

In what was a fiercely contested battle. Brian Dillons had the upper hand in the first-half and entered the break with a three-point advantage. The match remained closely fought until Midleton delivered decisive goals in the second-half and then extended their lead in the final ten minutes to secure a well-earned six points win. Outstanding performances from all the players who worked tirelessly in tough condition.

Well done to Kate on captaining the team.

UNDER 16S

Best of luck to our U-16 team who take on Eire Óg next Saturday, October 19 at 12 p.m. away in Eire Óg in the P2 Championship semi-final.

ADULTS

CO-OP SUPERSTORES COUNTY IAHC SEMI-FINAL

MIDLETON 0-14 ERINS OWN 3-11

Our intermediates' hopes of making it to back-to-back county finals came to an end in Cobh on Saturday last against East Cork neighbours Erins Own.

Playing against a very strong wind, we got off to a good start with an Aidan Ryan free in the fourth minute but a an Erins Own goal and a point in reply had them up by three with 11 minutes on the watch.

After another Aidan Ryan free, Erins Own hit for their second goal and the followed this up with a point from a sideline and a point from play to see them lead by 2-3 to 0-2 after 19 minutes.

Another Aidan Ryan free was followed by four Erins Own points on the bounce before Rory Hartnett finished the first-half scoring to see us trail by nine, 2-7 to 0-4, at the midway point.

We had a bright start to the second period, with four of the first five points, through Aidan Ryan (2), Garan Manley and Padraig O'Brien to see us cut the gap to six but we suffered a killer blow in the ninth minute of the second-half when the Caherlag men struck for their third goal which was followed soon after by a point to put them ten ahead with 16 to play.

We battled gamely in the final quarter but there was no way back and at the final whistle we lost out by six.

Well done to the players and mangement on a fine campaign which once again saw this team take one of the automatic semi-final spots after the groups.
