Golf Classic At  Castlemartyr GC

We are just over two weeks away from our Centenary Golf Classic, which runs from July 17th to 19th and are calling on all club members and friends to make one final push when it comes to recruiting teams and chasing tee box sponsors.
Whilst a lot of work has been done, we still remain quite a bit off our targets in both areas, so we appeal to one and all make another renewed effort.  There are still options on the timesheet for both the first two days.  Signs are currently being put together for our tee box sponsors, so we would greatly appreciate it if additions to our list come to us in the near future.

Enquiries to golf club committee members - Mick Carroll, John Cashman, Bernard Lawton, John Mullins, Christy O'Sullivan or Conor Whyte.
Team cost €200 including meal
Team and 3 tee boxes cost €300
 Tee boxes €50 euro each..

Intermediate Hurling

Games have concluded in division 5 of the Red FM League and following a busy few months, Watergrasshill on 14 points and Traction on 13 points have reached the Final.  The "Hill", who had already qualified before last weekend, conceded their match against us due to be played last Saturday, which left Castlemartyr In seventh place on 8 points.  Midleton finished on 7 points, with Cloyne on 5 and Argideeen Rangers on 4 bringing up the bottom of the table.
All eyes will turn to championship now, with Castlemartyr scheduled to open the group campaign against Valley Rovers in Riverstick on Saturday August 3rd - 7.30pm.
Meantime, the junior hurlers had a very worthwhile workout against Fermoy in a challenge game on Sunday evening last. Their championship campaign begins against Youghal in Killeagh on August 10th.

Junior Football Championship

Championship time is here for our junior footballers, who travel to Aghavine this Friday to engage Aghada in their opening group game game at 7.30pm.  The reds have had a difficult few months with the big ball, but will be hoping to get off on a positive note against an Aghada team, who no doubt will have a big squad available.  Eoin Coleman of Youghal is listed to take charge of this game.

We wish our team the very best of luck and encourage people to make the short journey to support the reds..  The other group games are against Erin's Own in Cobh on July 20th and against Carraig na bhFear in Carrigtwohill on August 15th.

Centenary Events

The Centenary committee are meeting again this week as they zone in on their next event, which is the Club Day on Sunday August 4th.  Lots of activities are set to take place at Paddy Walsh Memorial Park on that afternoon, so keep the date free in the diary .  More information to follow soon.

Croke Park Bound

A huge number of locals are set to make the trip to Croke Park on Sunday for the eagerly awaited Cork/Limerick showdown.  It's Cork's first semi final since 2021. whilst Limerick fans have made the venue their favourite summer residence for the past number of years.

Our very best wishes are sent to Ciarán and all the Cork team.  Here's hoping we will be planning a return journey in a few weeks time!

Lotto

A gentle reminder that the lotto draw takes place each Monday evening, so there's still time to purchase your tickets.  The current jackpot is creeping up again.

Car Boot Sale

Finally, Castlemartyr/Ballintotis Youth Club will host a Car Boot sale at our club grounds on Sunday week July 14th. Gate open at 7am.
