Minors Take Great Win

An incredible comeback by our minors last Wednesday evening in Caherlag, down by 6 points after 19 mins, down 2 points at half time, down 6 points at 43 minutes and down 2 points at 61 minutes. Watergrasshill didn’t take the lead at any stage in the game until their goal on the 61st minute to put them 1 point ahead followed by a point to see a hard earned 2 point win.
Scorers: Bobby Kelleher 1-3; Fionn Fitzgerald 2-0; Shane O’Callaghan 0-6 (3f and 3x65); Ryan Loftus 0-3; Ciaran Linehan 0-1; Cathal Sheehan 0-1.

A great display of hurling from the hill in the thunder and lightning in Carrignavar on last Thursday evening. Fresh off a defeat to the same opposition in football the previous Sunday, our lads were determined to set the record straight. A lot of hard work in the first half, we went in at the break down a goal on a score of 1 - 3 to 2 - 3. The lads came out in the second half and played some excellent hurling and got some great scores, some tough hard defending kept the opposition quite allowing us to emerge victorious in the end. A great team display from entire panel, with game time for everyone. Well done lads - keep enjoying yer hurling.
U13s bag the goals
U13 Rebel Óg Coiste Hurling League 2
Watergrasshill 5-10 V Sarsfields 4-3
In what was a cracking game of hurling last Friday evening, the hill had a poor start and conceded 2 early goals. We had been under a lot of pressure in the first 10 minutes but we then started passing and working the balls through the lines and getting a few scores on the board.
But then just before half time we coughed up 2 soft goals to leave us 4-3 to 1-2 down at half time. But these lads never give up and with a few positional switches the game changed in our favour and with the ace in our midfield & forwards we caused Sars all sorts of trouble and we started to put the scores on the board. With Fionn Healy and Ciarán Lee to the fore and with Ely O’Callaghan direct running causing Sars defenders a lot trouble. In the end a great result and 3 wins from 3 in the league for the boys.
Lotto
There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot this week. Numbers drawn were 11, 16, 17 & 30. Lucky dip winners, who each receive €30 each are Wm Connolly, Paul Casey, John Bosco Lynch and Maurice O’Connor. Congrats to you all. Next week's jackpot is €12,150 and draw will take place on 27th May in The Hut Bar.
