IN THE RED OF CORK
Hard luck to Conor Lehane, Tommy O'Connell, Brion Saunderson and all the Cork players and management team on their defeat to Clare in the Munster SHC in Pairc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday last. They are off this weekend before welcoming Limerick to the Pairc on Saturday week.
Well done to Mikey Fnn, David Cremin and Ter McCarty and all the Cork U20 players and management on their Munster hurling championship win over Limerick in Pairc Uí Chaoimh on Friday night. They are back in action this week when they will bid to make it four wins from four away to Tipperary in Thurles.
Well done too to Peter Barrett and the Cork minors on their win over Waterford in Cork on Thursday night last. They are off this week before hosting Clare in Pairc Uí Chaoimh next Thursday night.
On Saturday we had many players involved with different Cork U-15 teams.
In Mallow, Liam Walsh, John O'Sullivan Ciaran Kelly and Alfie Hennessy played against Tipperary and all did themselves and their club proud (first picture), while in Portlaoise Peader Egan, Jack Cahill and Rian McCormack all did really well against Offaly (second pic).
JUVENILES
FÉ10S
It has been a busy few weeks for our team. We took on FrO’Neils on the 20/4/24 in a football blitz. On the 25/4/24 we travelled to Pairc UÍ Chaoimh to play Blarney on the astro in hurling, and we returned to Fr O’Neils the next Saturday for another hurling match. All the games were very competitive and we got positive results in the majority of these.
We were thrilled with all our players, they battled for every ball and played some great hurling and football over the course of the games.
FÉ11S
Great hurling on Saturday morning with the Fé11 boys making the short trip to Youghal. Well done lads. #Magpiesabú...

Our Fé14 C3 football team travelled to Fermoy on Saturday and came away with a convincing win over the home team. Captain was Cathal O'Neil. A special word of thanks to the Fé13 lads who travelled with us Harry Cronin, Sean Barry, Eoin Mangan, Jack Twohig and Michael McManus....

CAMOGIE
UNDER 12
Our U12 (Black team) played our rescheduled game V Newcestown last Thursday evening just before the dark clouds threatened to rain. A competitive match that had action across the field. The girls scored early with a goal which settled us for the remainder of the game. We led all the way, despite a strong comeback form Newcestown in the second half. The rain came and drove down on the girls but they worked hard and secured the win. A great match and a lovely group from the West of the county.
UNDER 13S
Our U-13s played a league game on Sunday evening hosting Sars. The girls played an outstanding game of camogie coming out winners on a score line of 3-6 to 0-3.
All over the pitch the girls showed skill, drive and a great attitude to get their second win in a row in this very completive league.
UNDER 14S
Our U-14s made their second league game of the season against Tracton on Sunday morning. Well done to all the players who put in tremendous effort and to Saoirse Murphy Lane for captaining the team and was also outstanding. Our players displayed plenty of skill and determination against a very committed Tracton side. We came away with the win on a scoreline of 1-2 to 1-5. The team are improving with each outing.
MINORS
Well done to our minor team who had had two wins from two over Clonakilty and Sars 2. Both were two-point wins. Despite being absent a number of players for both games, all the girls were outstanding. Particular mention goes to our U16 girls who were a massive addition to the team on both days. Next up is Ballygarvan and Laochra Óg.
LILY GRANT JUNIOR LEAGUE
Midleton 5-11 Sliabh Rua 0-10
Our Lilly Grant Team continued on their winning ways with an impressive win over Sliabh Rua on Friday night last in Park South. Early goals by Saoirse Ni Theangana and Rayanna Power saw us take early control of the game and we never looked back after that . We led 3-7 to 0-4 at half-time and despite some good points by Sliabh Rua early in the second-half we maintained our composure throughput and ran out comfortable winners. Saoirse Ni Theangana was very impressive up front, following on from her great performance earlier in the week V's Sars in the Minor league. Everyone else played really well and if we can win our last home game next Friday, V Tracton we will be very close to qualifying for a semi-final place which would be a huge achievement by this group.
MIDLETON: Kate Griffin, Roisin O'Callaghan, Kate Saunderson, Cara Foley, Caoimhe Cronin (Capt), Pippa Hennessey, Meghan Wallis, , Lucy Kenneally(0-01), Ciara McGrath, Rachel Ryan (1-1 ), Hannah Power, Rayanna Power(1-1), Jade Fitzgerald (1-0), Saoirse Ni Theangan (2-6),Lilly Kelly (0-1), Beth Ryan
10-YEAR CELEBRATIONS
Despite rain on the day there was a huge turn out last Saturday to celebrate Midleton Camogie’s 10-year anniversary in Clonmult Memorial Park.
All age groups gathered for some inter club blitzes which was a huge success. To entertain the younger and older age groups there was face painting, entertainment, food stalls and music.
To round off the celebrations we unveiled our new crest and presented commemorative plaques were given to the founding members of the club who should be so proud of where the club is today.
The Junior team were presented with their county championships medal with their team picture presented to John Fenton to hang proudly in the club.
Thanks to all for attending this special day.

LADIES FOOTBALL
MINOR EAST CORK CHAMPIONSHIP
Our Minor ladies travelled to Aghada on Tuesday evening for the 1/4 final of the East Cork Minor Championship. A mixture of U15/16 and minor players took to the field and put in a fantastic effort on the night. We scored some great points but were denied on a couple of occasions by the Aghada goalkeeper who pulled off some good saves.
Unfortunately we lost out by 1 point but we cannot fault the girls in any way for the brilliant performance they put in. It was heartening to see how well the younger girls blended in so well with the team.Well done all.
Final Score: Midleton 0-16 Aghada 3-8
