A tough start for our junior footballers as they had to travel to Carraig na bhFear on Good Friday for their league opener.  Without  a number of regulars, the visitors played into a stiff breeze in the opening half and despite some fine approach play, got no reward for their endeavours in the opening 20 minutes.  Two late first half goals by Carraig were real sucker punches and meant the hosts retired with a 2-6 to 0-1 advantage.

Credit to Castlemartyr who found the feet with the ageing of the hour and battled on well to take the second honours on a  0-7 to 0-5 tally. It meant the final whistle sounded with the result reading 

2-11 to 0-8 against us.  Nevertheless positives were to be taken from the game, ahead of our next outing against Carrigtwohill on Sunday week, April 14th.

It's back to hurling games next weekend,  weather permitting - both our teams set to go into action.

Our intermediate team will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce when they visit Ballygarvan on Sunday morning. Meantime, after a narrow loss on their opener, the JHL selections are scheduled to travel to Carrigtwohill on Monday evening.
