Intermediate league
Glenville  1-07
Dromtariffe 0-06
On a rainy windswept day, Glenville got their first win of the league in a hard fought, sometimes dour encounter with Dromtariffe.
Dromtariffe raced into a 6 point lead in the first half before a Josh Cooke free and a Seamus Curtin point from play sent Glenville four points down at half time.
Glenville got a great start to the second half when Michael O'Driscoll scored a well taken goal. This was quickly followed up with a wonder point from James Gowen to leave the sides level with 20 minutes to go.
Glenville finished with a flourish, scoring four points to give us the win. Special mention must go to Josh Cooke who was outstanding throughout.
All at the club wish Tom Dinan a speedy recovery from the injury he sustained in the match.
Next match is away to Glanmire on 26/03/23
U18 Football League Div 1
Glenville 5-9
Whitechurch 1-9
Our U18 league campaign continued on Saturday with a home game in Glenville against Whitechurch.  Conditions were excellent after some poor weather recently and the pitch was in great shape.  Glenville were quick off the mark with an excellent point from Sam Dennehy, quickly followed by another from Ciaran O’Riordan but Whitechurch came back with a goal and a point in short order.  However, after initially struggling to get to grips with Whitechurch’s formation the lads found their groove and led by  1-07 to 1-03 at half time.  We got a great start to the second half when a shot from distance from Liam Foley found its way to the back of the net and we managed to maintain a healthy cushion throughout the second half, with two late goals putting an extra sheen on the scoreline, Glenville running out winners on a scoreline of 5-09 to 1-09.  To be fair to Whitechurch, the final scoreline flattered us as the teams were pretty evenly matched throughout, we got a few lucky breaks that resulted in goals at crucial times.  Overall it was a great workout as the team continued their bright start to this league campaign, it is great experience for what is a very young team.  Everyone played their part across the full panel, but Mike O’Driscoll in particular was a commanding figure at the back and Sam Dennehy got some superb scores throughout the game.  Team and scorers: C.Sheehan; B.O’Sullivan, D.Forde S.O’Leary; C.O’Leary (0-02), M.O’Driscoll, D.O’Bric; Ca.O’Mahony (2-0), L.Foley (1-01); S.Dennehy (2.04), B.Ryan, C.Linehan (0-01); C.O’Riordan (0-01), F.Fitzgerald, M.O’Riordan; S.Curtin, C.O’Mahony.Next up for some of this team is the start of the league campaign for our U16s who travel to Fermoy on Sunday 19th March
U14 C3 Football League
Glenville 0-16
Kilta Og 2-08
Glenville played Kilta Og in Castlemartyr this afternoon. A great team performance from the lads. Glenville ran out winners on a score line of Glenville 0.16 Kilta Og 2.08. Some excellent point taking and some great performances across the team.
Well done lads !!
U14s League
Glenville 0-06
St Colmcilles
Glenville U14s had a tough start Div 1 of the East Cork League on Sunday the 12th March. The lads fought hard but lost to St. Colmcilles in difficult conditions 1-7 to 0-6. The teams were level at half time, Glenville having set up camp in front of the St. Colmcilles goal just before halftime, eating into the lead that a St Colmcilles goal had given them.
Unfortunately, in a physical contest in wet conditions, the hosts pulled away to win by 4 points.
Junior B league
Glenville 0-06
Russell Rovers 0-12
Our Junior B team took on Russell Rovers at home in the league Friday night. Even though we didn't get the result on a scoreline of 12 points to 6 in favour of Russell Rovers the game itself didn't reflect the scoreline. Stand out performances for Glenville by Eamon Counihan and Ciaran O Leary. Our next outing is on the 27th March against Midleton at 7pm in Midleton.
