Honours Even Against the Hill
We travelled to Rathcormac last Friday to take on neighbours Watergrasshill in the 2nd round of the PIHC. We knew a win would see us qualify for the next stage of the championship and that our opponents ended a win to keep their hopes alive. The Hill started with a Paddy O'Regan score. Anthony Spillane levelled the game after a tentative early start to the game. Anthony missed a goal chance a few minutes later and Watergrasshill began to take control of the middle period of the first half. Daire O'Leary was hurling very well for our opponents while Niall O'Leary and Colm Barry were trying hard in our defence. Watergrasshill extended their lead with frees from O'Regan while David Morrison pulled a point back for us. Alan Fenton pulled two frees back before the break to leave it 0-9 to 0-6 to Watergrasshill at half time. We started the 2nd half much better. James Kearney, Alan, and Colm Spillane raising white flags. We looked to be in the ascendancy so credit to Watergrasshill tenacity, they fought back very well. Their goalie Aiden Foley scored a huge free and Daire O'Leary scored an important point. Wides from bother sides would prove to be crucial come the end of the match. Alan Fenton scored a 65 with the last puck of the game to leave it 0-14 a piece at the final whistle.

U15 Hurlers Down Fr. O'Neills

This was our second championship hurling match and it was a must win game to stay in the championship. Wr3e got off to a slow start and were trailing at half time 1-7 to 1-3. But the second half we came out fighting and put in a huge performance to come out on top in a score line 2-15 to 1-8. An absolutely fantastic performance by everyone in the second half.

Donations Still Welcome for Development
We really are at the final push for donations for the development scheme. Work has commenced so we hope to have a lot of the groundwork done over the next month and to have seeds sat by September. In order to meet these ambitious targets, we need all the fundraising we can get. So please, if you have not donated and would like to do so then do not hesitate to contact Treasurer Mick Spillane on 086 8196232. Every euro is important so we can build facilities that can benefit the club for years to come. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. Your support is invaluable.
