County Intermediate football championship Round 1
Glenville 0-12  Kildorrery 0-12
Glenville travelled to Killavullen on Friday night last for the opening round of the county intermediate football championship.
It was Glennville who started the best and raced into a 5 points to 2 lead after the first quarter with Sean scoring 3 and Dan and Josh kicking a point each. Glenville kicked another 2 points to take a 4 point lead in the second quarter but it Kildorrery kicked the last 4 points to leave the sides level at the break, 7 points each. Kildorrey started the second half the better and kicked 3 unanswered points to go ahead 10 points to 7. However, Glenville dug in and began to dominate the game and kicked 5 unanswered points though Seamus, Sean, Josh and Kevin to go 2 points ahead with a few minutes to play.
Glenville tried their best to keep Kildorrery out and deep deep into injury time, Kildorrery kicked the levelling point to ensure the game ended in a draw.
Overall it was a very entertaining game played in front of a large crowd with both teams giving there all.
Next up for Glenville in Round 2 is Glanworth which will be played on Friday August 12th at 7.30pm in Rathcormac.

Under 11 Trip of Killarney
On Thursday the 21st under 11’s made the trip to Killarney to participate in the Munster under 11 blitz events, our lads took the spying mission seriously, and were focussed on harvesting as much information from the outing as possible. It helped that Kerry officials etc were preoccupied with the all-Ireland final rather than our covert operation
We had a warm welcome from the get-go on arrival in Killarney, and in fairness to our lads even though only 11 years, they treated with it a healthy degree of suspicion
We had three great matches on the day playing Parteen of Clare in the first game and Toussist and Finuge of Kerry in the 2nd and 3rd game. The standard and quality of the football was very high, and all out guys got lots of playing time .
In act of outrageous complacency our lads were invited into the inner sanctum of Fitzgerald stadium and got hear former all Ireland winner Fionn Fitzgerald to tell the kingdom dressing secrets. Our lads were eventually noticed and had to make a run for it out the tunnel , but not without chanting up the rebels as they went.
On to the bus and onto one of fine eating houses in Killarney to replenish the bodies after the game, before heading for the border and safety!
A great day for our crew all 28 of them and 5 coaches and a successful spying trip will pay great dividends in the future!
U12
Glenville U12 travelled to Killeagh for Fe12 league match Monday evening. Glenville battled hard throughout against a well drilled Killeagh team. Final score Glenville 3-07 Killeagh 5-15.
