MEMBERSHIP
Membership for the 2022 season to join Killeagh GAA is now due.
You can pay your membership via the Foireann portal online, check out returntoplay.gaa.ie Use your name and email from last year when using it for the Return to Play. All player’s memberships should be paid before returning to training. If this is not paid, you may be stopped from training.
If you have any queries, please contact our Registrar, Colman Motherway for more information.
We would ask that all players to have their membership paid prior to taking to the field.
LAST CHANCE FOR €90 YEARLY LOTTO’s
Our weekly Lotto Draw will continue on each Tuesday evening throughout 2022. We have a large number of supporters who avail of a yearly Lotto ticket which gives weekly entry into the Draw.
All yearly tickets cost €90. Please play soon by placing the €90 into an envelope at our lotto box and place your winning line, your name and phone number.
REBELS BOUNTY LAST CALL
Last calls being made for the 2022 Rebels Bounty draws. 360 prizes and €500,000 will be given out over 12 draws to be given including a first prize of €100,000 in December!
We can tell you that we have sold our quota of tickets for the County Board so every €100 sold from here on out goes directly to upgraded the facilities at Páirc Uí Chinnéide.

First draws of 2022 are this Thursday February 24th. Please purchase your tickets before this Wednesday evening and make sure to select Killeagh GAA club as your favoured club.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2022
Just a quick note of possible dates for 2022 to keep an eye out for.
The County Football League starts on weekend of Mar 5th/6th while the Red FM Hurling League starts on the weekend of Mar 12th/13th. League Finals will be scheduled to complete in late June/early July. The
Co-Op Superstores Hurling Championship is scheduled to start on July 29th – 31st, the East Cork Football championship dates will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Our opening County Division 1 league game will be against Fr O’Neills at home. Our first East Cork Division 1 hurling league game is home to Midleton while our first East Cork Division 1 football league game will be away to Cobh. All dates and times for matches are to be confirmed.
The All-Ireland Hurling and Football Finals will take place on July 17th & 24th respectively.
One change next year sees a new grade of Under 19 taking over the old Under 21 grade which will be played every Wednesday night from March to August. Clubs will be playing without their Inter-County players for this grade in leagues 2022.
Finally, the all-important County Championship draws took place recently. In our group for the Senior A Hurling championship, we have Premier Intermediate champions Courcey Rovers, last year’s quarter finalists Blarney and last year’s finalists Fr O’Neills, in that order.
PITCH UPDATE
Please note both the Main Pitch & the Clashdermot (Lights) Pitch will now remain CLOSED for Pitch Maintenance until MARCH at earliest. The Glenbower pitch will remain open for training or pucking/kicking around for the next few months. We ask all teams, mentors & club members to respect this decision as we prepare our pitches for the 2022 season.
Training may take place on Glenbower field but 10 min intervals between sessions will be required.
Our walking facility will remain open for all members of our club and the community during the season.
If you need to book a pitch, the ball alley or the Gym, please email your request to pitchbookings.killeagh.cork@gmail.com to send your requests for February only.
IRELAND LIGHTS UP RETURNS TO PÁIRC UI CHINNÉIDE
‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking campaign continues this week with WALKING WEDNESDAYS every Wednesday at the Killeagh GAA complex in partnership with the GAA and RTÉ’s Operation Transformation to ensure that ‘Ireland Lights Up’ by turning on our floodlights.
Walkers are asked to walk in an anti-clockwise direction (keep pitch on your left), observe social distancing, use hand sanitisers available (bottles free to all walkers on Night 1), and not to come if you have any symptoms of Covid-19.
Hope to see as many of you as possible over the next few weeks, please spread the word and encourage friends and family to join you.
See you all from 7pm on Wednesday.
LOTTO UPDATE:
KILLEAGH GAA LOTTO JACKPOT IS ON THE RISE...
The first Lotto club draw of 2022 was worth €7,400 and took place on Tuesday February 15th. The numbers drawn on the night were 2, 13, 15 & 22. There was no winner of this week’s Lotto draw. Next week’s Jackpot will be a huge €7,600.
The €30 Lucky Dip winners drawn were Winnie O'Connor & Ger Fitzgibbon, while the €30 voucher for O’Neills Londis was won by Fiona Holt & the €30 voucher for Fitzgibbon’s Garage was won by Tom & Joan Harte. Thank you for all your support.
Our Lotto Tickets are also available locally in O’Neill’s Londis (near the front door), Ahern’s Centra (near the Deli), Burgess Service Station (near the back door), Fitzgibbon’s Garage, Vibez Salon, Old Thatch, Longs, Kennedys Bar & Tom Kelly’s Butchers, Killeagh.
But, if you cannot get to the local businesses during the week before 8pm Tuesdays and you wish to enter the draw online, you can buy tickets up to 8:15pm on Tuesday evening at https://bit.ly/Killeagh! ROAD RACE:
The Killeagh 4 Mile Road Race will take place on Sunday March 13th at 11am. It is the same course as before, starting on Cork Road, steadily climbing for first 1.5 miles before a drop downhill before turning left onto Garrenjames, then a two mile flat run back towards GAA complex and finishing outside the entrance at Páirc Ui Chinnéide. You can register online at https://killeaghgaa4mileroadrace.itsyourrace.com/register/ for €10 +fees. Make sure you register please before you arrive. Showering and changing facilties will be available on the day.
We will be seeking local volunteers on the day to help out. Please call Dave Barry or any committee member if you can help out on the day.
NURSERY:
Our Clubs Nursery has completed for 2021 and will restart in the spring time of 2022. All 2016 boys and girls can progress to play with the Under 6’s of their respective groups next year while children born 2017 or later may return to Nursery group next year.
Thank you to all the parents, siblings and coaches who helped out in any way over the past six month, hope to see you all at Páirc Uí Chinneide for many years to come!
KILLEAGH GAA GOLF SOCIETY:
Next outing is to Cork Golf Club on April 19th. Time sheet is now open. Please book ASAP as time sheet will be over subscribed. First come first served.
Our Away trip has limited numbers available. We play Dooks Golf club on Friday April 22nd before travelling to Maine Valley on April 23rd staying over in Killarney. Please contact Tim Crotty if you are interested in playing over the weekend.
