Heartbreak for Minors in East Cork final Our U18s suffered a heartbreaking defeat last Friday night in Caherlag in the East Cork final, Cobh being the victors on the night. We had fallen at the same stage in the same location last year, so the team were not short of motivation on the night, but alas it wasn’t to be. It was a fine night for football, although it was one of the colder nights we have seen this year, and the evening dew made handling difficult for both teams. Cobh were first out ..

U21s Lose First Time outWe began our u21 hurling campaign last Sunday evening against Aghada in a wet and miserable Rostellan under lights. The game began as a tit for tat affair with Oscar Hallihan and Adam Lardner opening our scoring with Aghada replying with points of their own. Aghada found their groover and took the lead with a well taken goal. Castlelyons responded with points from frees from Colm McCarthy. We went in 2 points down at half time on a scoreline of 1-05 to 0-06. Aghada began ..

BRIDE ROVERS GAA NOTES.SENIORS EXIT IN SEMI FINAL. It was a disappointing end to our Senior Hurling Championship campaign for 2024 last Sunday night. Because of the torrential rain on Saturday our game and the other semi final were moved back by a day.  We cant blame the weather or the pitch but what unfolded in Pairc Ui Chaoimh under lights on Sunday was just shocking from our point of view. After a close and tight first half we went in at the break ahead by a point.  Blarney edged ahead ear..

Seniors Go Out FightingLast Sunday was a disappointing day on the huring front as both our adult teams left the championship. Our Junior hurlers lost out to Fr. O’Neills in the East Cork Final and then our Senior hurlers lost out to Glen Rovers by 2 goals in their County Semi-final that evening. It wasn’t meant to be our day and that is how sport goes sometimes. You get the highs and the lows. The Senior game was postponed 24 hours due to the Orange weather alert but that didn’t stop eithe..

Minors prepare for East Cork Final Glenville 1-21 St.Colmcilles 4-09With an impending East Cork final, our minors were out last Thursday night in a challenge game at home to St.Colmcilles who themselves recently won an East Cork title. With a few players missing on both sides, it turned out to be a very open game, with Glenville very much to the forefront in the first half, kicking some wonderful scores and being very economical with their chances, going into half time with an impressive lead o..

Junior Bs end season on a highEast Cork Junior B Championship Glenville 2-08 St. Catherines 1-07The Junior Bs ended their season on a winning note by defeating St.Catherines in a hugely entertaining game under lights in Glenville on Monday night. The pitch was in perfect condition after the torrential rain the previous day which is a credit to the ground staff.
