Safeguarding and Garda Vetting

Messsge from Ingrid re Safeguarding. All coaches on all teams must have the Safeguarding course done. Please contact Ingrid 087-6374748.

Just an update about Friday night. Safeguarding is at 7 pm in the club Friday 22nd. She will be there early to do vetting if anyone needs signing. Some people haven’t uploaded documents properly in the last few weeks and they have been rejected and some people have timed out. If that is relevant to you, you will have got an email so please act on it.  This will be the last safeguarding for this year so it is vital that all who need to get it done are present. First whistlers and cul camp coaches as well as new coaches for under six and across the club also.

Coaches/ managers will not be allowed onto pitches for championship if they are not compliant so please get it done if it applies to you.

Juvenile

Fé16

Another busy week for the lads. First up on Thursday the 14th we had a P1 league game away in Ballinora. We started well but left goal chances behind in the first half against the wind. These proved costly against a top class outfit in the hosts. We failed to take full advantage of the wind in second half and they continued to find scores easier. In the end we went down 3-20 to 1-13.

On Monday we had our third league outing in the Division 1 where we entertained St Colmans. In what was a wet, windy and cold night and confidence was low due to being in the wrong division we had a great turnout from the lads, which in fairness is a great tribute to them and their desire to represent the club even with everything against them. The result was evident after a few minutes but the lads kept fighting until the very end. We can see great improvements in the lads and once again it can’t be underestimated how much we appreciate the efforts made by the lads in difficult circumstances.

On Tuesday we had our 5th outing in the P1 league at home in Clonmult Memorial Park against Blarney. This was a great game that was compelling viewing for the hour. We led for large periods of the game and this was our best performance so far. In an even contest we were just pipped in the end in a match that could have gone either way. While this has been a disappointing league so far results wise there is a gradual improvement as we are going along. Midleton 0-19 Blarney 1-18

Street Leagues 2026

Our Football Street Leagues concluded on Sunday 17th of May last.  The girls played their qualifying rounds on Monday 4th & 11th of May on the 3G pitch in Park South.  On Sunday the last qualifier was played with Sons of Rest & St Endas qualifying for the final.  The final was a cracker, both teams played fantastic football, showing off their skill, athleticism and determination.  Sons of Rest emerged victorious and lifted The Nealy Horgan Cup which was presented by Nealy's grandson Alanand his great-grandsons Odhran and Caolan.

Many thanks to everyone who helped over the last few weeks it is very much appreciated.  Sincere thank you to all the parents who made sure the girls were at all games, togged and on time.  To our young whistlers who did a great job, we cannot run the Street Leagues without you, so thank you all so very much.  To the Juvenile Boys Street Leagues Committee thank you for your co-operation, help & support organising this year's Street Leagues.

Finally to the coaches, there are really no words to express how much Midleton Ladies Football appreciate all the work that you do with the girls every week at training.  There is absolutely no doubt that the girls are improving week on week, the future is bright for Midleton Ladies Football.  Magpies Abú.

Boys Street Leagues 2026

Forkums V Saints in the final with both having qualified after winning their first 4 matches.

The half time score was 3-3 with Saints having played with the wind in the first half. In the second half Saints put up some fantastic scores with Isaac Altonoz scoring a vital point. James O Keeffe and Dylan Walsh were now covering huge ground in midfield. Forkums were unlucky not to score when they hit the upright on two occasions and Callum O Dowd in goals for Forkums pulling off two fantastic saves.

Saints kept pushing to the end but were unable to claw back the lead of Forkums who ran out 9-6 winners in the end . Well done to all who participated on the day.
