Sun Brings Crowd for Open Evening
We held a very successful information evening last Saturday to exhibit our new facilities. We were thrilled to open the new community walkway and to show off all the work that has been carried out to date. The weather was fantastic, and it was great to see such a big crowd.
There has been a huge effort by so many people to develop the pitch so far. The whole community has rowed in behind the development with donations and volunteer work. It is brilliant to see what can be achieved when we all work together. We hope to have an even bigger day out next year for the official opening of the playing pitch so stay tuned.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without such brilliant support from local people who have donated so whole-heartedly to our contribution scheme. Much of the money pledged was to be given in instalments over 5 years. This years’ instalment is now due so if any outstanding monies can be forthcoming, it would make a huge difference. Without the pledged money we will struggle to complete further phases of the development. New donations are also very much welcome. Please contact Treasurer Mick Spillane on 0868196232. We also had much appreciated government support through various grants. We are grateful to the public representatives who have helped us out to date. It is great to see community projects so well supported.

Premier Intermediate Hurling Quarter Final.
Castlelyons v Ballymartle - Friday 15th September in Páirc Uí Rinn at 7.30pm.
Our Premier Intermediate hurlers take to the field again on Friday evening and take on Ballymartle in the county quarter final. We had a disappointing result in our last match but this is knock out championship hurling now so everything is on the line. Ballymartle are a tough side and are looking to bounce back up to the senior ranks after being relegated last year. Castlelyons are looking for our 4th semi-final appearance in a row. Beir bua lads and best of luck. Castlelyons Abú!!
