Saturday 19th March in Ballynoe.

Aghada 2 – 18.   Glanmire 1 - 5 .

Aghada make it three in a row.

Our lads put on a perfect performance to over come Glanmire in Ballynoe on Saturday evening. From the throw  they played great flowing football with Charlie Terry opening the scoring with a well worked point. This was followed with a goal from captain Conor O Driscoll. Kevin O Hanlon powered in front of his defender popping the ball over the bar .Shane Bennett winning a lot of ball and distributing it very well created  two frees which Aaron Berry  and Stephen Murphy converted. Jake O Donohhue Jordan Tynan and Kalen O Donoghue commanded the halfback line and kept Glanmire forwards under tabs. Glanmire then got their first point after 12mins.Ed Leahy  attacked from centre back to add to the score sheet with a great point. It was amazing football to watch as the next four points came from Charlie Terry, Kevin O Hanlon, Jack Farmer and Aaron Berry. The team were really working for each other. Glanmire got their second point on the 22nd minute. Aaron Stafford at the end of a class move put the ball over the bar. Jack farmer followed with his second before Glanmire’s ball hit the back of our net. Aaron Berry got the last score of the half to leave half time score Aghada 1-13 Glanmire 1-2. They opened the scoring in the second half with a point. Glanmire made a few changes which had us under pressure for awhile. We settled again with our backs dominating. John Looney replaced Aaron Stafford on 40mins. His first involvement in the U21 campaign after injury and held up well. Daniel Creedon came on for Stephen Murphy 40mins also. And played a very controlling role. Aaron Berry’s  free taking with perfection got our first two points of the half. Jack Farmer made his way through Glanmire’s defence with ease to get the second goal for us. Glanmire got three  more points . The management unloaded their bench at this stage of the game with a few minutes to go .Kalen O Donoghue and Daniel Creedon got the last scores of the game. Final whistle blown by referee Dominic Rooney who also had a fine match made it three in a row great achievement to all involved.
