Eochaill GAA Club News

Winner alright!

Congratulations to Michelle Lawton and her family who travelled to Curraheen Park for the February Greyhound Spectacular in the Cork GAA Clubs Draw. The Lawton’s were wined and dined and had a wonderful night out and to top it all off Michelle had the second dog home in Race 6, netting her a nice €500.

Uachtarán Presents Jerseys

Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Críostóir Ó Cuana has generously donated a set of Jerseys to Bun Scoile Mhuire. The presentation was made at Bun Scoile Mhuire last Thursday afternoon by Eochaill Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Officer John Parker.

The Club and the school would sincerely like to thank the Uachtarán for this generous gift and we would also like to thank and congratulate John on the tireless work he does introducing our National game into the schools. John is a credit to the Association and to Eochaill Cumann Lúthchleas Gael.

Youghal GAA Club is in the process of putting together a team to play in the East Cork Darts league. There are plenty of good arrows players who are members of our club and if you want to get ready for the big 9 dart check out contact the Club Arás facilities Manager Ken Bulman on 086-6013225.

Strawberries and Cream

Eochaill has now built a brand new Tennis Court and will soon look towards running the very first tennis tournament on this brand new facility at Club Arás. Again Ken Bulman on 086-6013225 if you have an interest in entering the tournament. (Apparently Eochaill Cathaoirleach Dave Kilgannon is a bit of a John McEnroe!)

Youghal Ladies Football News

Youghal Ladies Football is well and truly up and running, with all teams flat out on the training fields or in the hall. We now have got our championship and league draws, which will see plenty of action of the coming months. Lá Fhéile Padraig

As we prepare to celebrate our National Holiday Youghal GAA would like to congratulate the Cork Hill/Youghal Pipe Band for their brilliant organising of the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Youghal. The Club will meet and march in the Parade and times and information will be given out during the coming week for assembly etc. After the parade there will be activities in Club Arás including a kids disco. As the Club Championships are being a Páirc an Chrócaigh, what better place to watch the action. It should be a super family day for our members and their friends.

Garryvoe Hotel Junior Football League Division 2

Youghal will play against Cobh this coming Tuesday night at Magners Hill in the East Cork Garryvoe Hotel Junior Football League Division 2.

After a great start with an opening win in Ballynoe against St Catherine’s, there was disappointment with a defeat to Glenville, but this is Youghal’s opportunity to get things back on track in their first home game of the 2011 League, so it is hoped that plenty people turn up to cheer on the lads.

A Cead Mile Failte

Eochaill played hosts to an underage hurling club from Newry who played at Club Arás. We want to wish them a safe journey home and were delighted to have them in our club.
