Glenville GAA Notes

This weekend sees the Minor Footballers in action in the replayed 2010 league Final v Kiltha Og. The last time the sides met way back in early November proved a cracker as Glenville pulled the game out of the fire in injury time in extra time behind by four points to force a dramatic draw.

Kiltha Og will be a tough nut to crack and Glenville will have to be at their best to compete the task here. Game is on in Castlemartyr at 4pm on Saturday.

The Junior Footballers first league game is on this Wednesday night at 8pm against Youghal in Fouhy Park. While on Sunday morning the Intermediate side are in league action against Aghada in Glenville at 12noon.

Last weekend the U16 and U13 sides had challenge games against Douglas in Glenville. The U16s were beaten 5-10 to 0-11 while the U13 side had a runaway win over the city side. Training is on going now so check with relevant coaches for any details on trainings and games.

Dick Cahill U21 Football tournament Further progress was made last weekend with a number of games played in this competition. We are down now to the concluding stages with Friday night Clann Gael meeting Ballinora and the winners playing Kinsale on Sunday at 4pm.

While on Monday night Youghal v Donoughmore in the other semi final.

Sam Maguire comes to schools On Friday morning

Sam Maguire along with star forward Donnocha o Connor made an appearance in Glenville and Watergrasshill National Schools. A great morning was had and all the kids got a chance to chat to Donnocha and get a few tips on how to put the ball over the bar !!.
