Intermediates kicked off their league campaign with a home game against Divisional Senior side Beara on Sunday morning last. This was Glenvilles second game of the season with a Tom Creedon Cup outing a few weeks previous. With so many absentees at the moment dues to injuries and immigration its an opportunity to see new faces in action.

In very trying and testing conditions this was a game for doing the basics well and Glenville took a while to get this aspect of the play into operation. With the scoring very low and scores at a premium a Paudie Cahill goal five minutes from half time after an exquisite pass from Paddy o Regan gave us a 1-2 to 0-2 interval lead we never relinquished eventhough Beara mounted a charge towards the end of the game the margin was too great to surmount as a wind assisted strong second half showing saw Glenville increase the lead to 1-6 to 0-2.

Beara found the Glenville defence in misery mood and scores were very hard earned indeed. So good start to the league campaign. No match this weekend but we have a home game v Aghada on feb 27th and Bantry away a week later. Final Score Glenville 1-8 Beara 1-6.

The Junior team were due to play Cobh in the league on Sunday also but that match was called off and instead Glenville played Grange on Monday night in a challenge game with Glenville winning out 2-8 to 0-6 in atrocious weather conditions.

The junior league commences on wed night feb 23rd when Youghal travel to Fouhy Park.
