Glenville GAA News

With the weather taking a turn for the worst, playing action was still pretty plentiful with the Intermediates,U21s and U14s all playing games over the past week.

The Intermediates had their first run out last week with defeat in the Tom Creedon Cup. Kinsale were visitors to Fouhy Park under lights last Wednesday evening and came away with a lucky one point win against a Glenville side who improved greatly as the game went on.

This proved an ideal opportunity to blood some new faces and the management were very happy with the run out even though the result did not go our way in the end. Kinsale winning out 2-6 to 1-8.

This weekend sees the first round of the Kelleher Shield with Glenville at home to Beara on Sunday at 12.30 in Glenville main pitch.

The U21s played Blarney and Ballinora in the Dick Cahill cup and had mixed fortunes winning against Blarney 2-14 to 2-2 but losing out on Friday night against Ballinora 0-8 to 0-3 in terrible conditions for football.

The U14s played a good game with Mayfield winning by a four point margin in the end.

This weekend sees the Junior Footballers also in action with Youghal visiting Fouhy Park in the opening round of the league under lights on Friday Feb 18th with a 7.30pm start.
