CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS

East Cork Championship draws 2011 were completed recently and some interesting pairings emerged from the hat.

In hurling we face big town neighbours Midleton in a preliminary round encounter. Manager Mike Woods is hoping for a big improvement from last year, but is looking forward to the challenge posed as his side will face one of the favourites for Championship 2011 in early summer.

In football, we've been paired with Erin’s Own in another tough round one opener. Football supremo Tim Mulcahy is excited about the challenge that the year ahead faces and with a young panel of players now at his disposal and backboned by a solid experienced core he admits that the prospect of facing Erin’s Own is challenging, but exciting.

Next week we'll take a look at the new Avondhu./ Imokilly League and our encounters in this new competition.

Under 9 / 10 visit to Na Piarsiagh

What a wonderful day on the North Side as our young boys battled with the famous Na Piarsiagh, and must be said more than held their own. The two sides played two ten - a side games each against our hosts and this will hold us in great stead for the year that is just beginning.
