The season kicked off over the weekend with the Glenville Dick Cahill U21 Football tournament first round games going ahead.

Conditions were favourable for all games with keenly contested fare in all games .

Passage and Clondrohid kicked off the first game on Friday night with victory going to the city men.

Glenvilles U21 game v Blarney was pushed back because of Watergrasshill minor hurlers in action last Sunday but unfortunately both minor and Intermediate Football lost.

Tom Creedon Cup game v Kinsale game over the weekend was postponed due to the sudden death of Eamon Roche, a great supporter of the club.

The club wishes to send its condolences to the Roche family.

Fixtures for the week

Saturday U21 Football Tournament v Blarney in Fouhys at 7pm.

Championship Draws Following last weeks East Cork Board and County Board meetings the draws for various competitions were decided.

Premier Intermediate v Mallow,

Junior Football v Midleton,

U21 B Football v Russell Rovers.

Minor and juvenile draws will be done at a later date with the teams now in the new county wide league and championship.

The Intermediate team are in Div 2 of the county league and play Beara in the first league game away on weekend of Feb 18th.

While the Junior Football league will commence on the feb 12th of feburary.We are at home to Cobh.

Membership is due at the moment,Yes that time of year again.Players is €60, Non Players €50 and students/minors €30. Can be paid as soon as possible to any club officer.
