Aghada GAA News

24 January, 2011

With all the draws done for 2011 it is full steam ahead. Last Wed night East Cork completed their draws, with Aghada getting some tough encounters.

In the Junior B Hurling we play Castlelyons in round 1. Having reached both U21 finals last year the club would be hoping to go one better this year. In the Hurling we meet old friends Fr O’Neill’s in round one with the winner meeting Cobh or St Catherine’s in the Q finals. This was a rip roaring game last year which went all the way to the wire and it will be no different this year. In the Football we meet Midleton in the semi final for the second year running, and we were lucky to beat them 1-7 to 8 points last year in Shanagarry.

Just to recap the other draws made the week before in Junior A Football we play Ballinacurra. Its old friends Cloyne in the Junior B football 1st round. In The Senior football draw its Valley Rvs, while the Intermediate hurlers play last years finalists Ballygarvan

Last Sun Aghada senior footballers travelled to Rosscarbery for the 1st Round of the Tadhg Crowley Cup. The home side Carbery Rangers had a big win by 2-14 to 1-7.
