The coming weekend sees the Ulster Bank Co Premier Minor League continue with a number of interesting games down for decision.
In Group 1 of the Ulster Bank Co Premier 1 Minor Football League Na Piarsaigh will have home advantage against St Michaels on Sunday morning where the home side after their well deserved victory over Carrigaline on Monday night last will be hoping to continue their good form while St Michael who had an exciting share of the spoils with Fermoy last weekend will be all out to get full points from this outing.
In Group 2 Mallow open their campaign with a home game against Bishopstown on Sunday. The home side will be looking for a positive start to the competition while Bishopstown will be all out to make up for their defeat to Castlehaven last weekend.
Group 3 sees St Finbarrs make the trip to Drimoleague tomorrow afternoon to take on Clann na nGael in what promises to be an entertaining encounter. The ‘Barrs looked impressive in this victory over Douglas last weekend and this should put them in a confident mood for this game but Clann na nGael will have other ideas and they will be all out make a winning start to their campaign.
In the same group also tomorrow afternoon in Ballincollig the home side meet Carrigtwohill where both sides will want to start their campaign on a winning note.
In the Ulster Bank Co Premier 2 Minor Football League Group 1 Mayfield welcome Fr O’Neills to Mayfield on Sunday morning looking for their second success in this group while their opponents who will be making their initial appearance in this competition will be hoping for a positive result.
In the same group O’Donovan Rossa travel to the Glen Field on Wednesday night to take on St Nicholas in what has all the hallmarks of being a cracking encounter after both sides had encouraging results last weekend.
In Group 2 of the same competition Midleton will have home advantage against Millstreet tomorrow afternoon in St Colmans Field hoping to bounce back after their defeat to Youghal last weekend. On the other hand the visitors will be hoping to go one better after their share of the spoils with Bantry Blues during the week.
Glanmire and Kinsale meet in Kinsale on Sunday where both sides will be looking for an improvement of their performances last weekend where they lost out to Brian Dillons and Clonakilty respectively.
Brian Dillons will have Clonakilty as visitors to Pairc Diolunaigh on Sunday afternoon where the home side will be will be hoping to pick up their second brace of points but their opponents will have similar ideas ensuring a top class contest is envisaged.
