Castlemartyr GAA Notes

AGM 2010

Our annual general meeting was help in the school on the 26th November. After another successful year for the club it was a very positive meeting with chairman Dave Fleming keeping order.

Secretary Michael John Cremin gave a comprehensive overview of all activities that took place during the year including actives on and off the pitch. Treasurer Charlotte Carroll insisted no bail out was necessary after keeps tabs on the finances for the past 12 months, which are in good order. Bill Moran and John White reported on the juvenile and minor front, where Kiltha Og had another successful year. Chairman Dave Fleming then addresses the crowd and congratulated both junior hurling teams on their success this year and also stressing that we have to build on our success and ensure that we strive to move forward as a club.

On to the election of officers then where there was plenty of changes as the top table. Dave Fleming was once again elected to the chair of the club with Cha O’Neill continuing as his right hand man in the role of vice chairman. With Michael John stepping aside as secretary after doing great work over the last number of years, Donagh McCarthy was elected to the committee for the first time. Frank Hayes takes over from Charlotte Carroll as treasurer and it is a credit to Charlotte that we find ourselves in a healthy financial state in these times. Damien Roche takes over the public relations duties from Carey Joyce who brought the job to a new level over the last number of years. Hopefully the new PRO will have as much success to write about as Carey did!

So everyone left the meeting safe in the knowledge that our club was in safe hands for 2011 and hoping that the success of the last two years will continue.

Date for your diary.

Our victory dinner dance will take place on Sat 29th of January in Garyvoe with ‘The West End Boys’ again providing the entertainment. More details will follow in the coming weeks.
