Juvenile Awards

The juvenile awards were presented during the Halloween party last Sunday in O’Meara’s lounge. It was great to see so many kids get into the Halloween spirit with pirates, witches and the odd skeleton on show. Cork Hurler Niall McCarthy presented the awards to the following recipients –

U10 Hurler of the Year – Evan Rowlands
U10 Most Improved – Eoghan Hegarty

U8 Hurler of the Year – Kane Rowlands
U8 Most Improved – Ben Cummins

U10 Footballer of the year – Craig Condon
U10 Most Improved – Finbarr O’Sullivan

U8 Footballer of the year – Diarmuid Byrne
U8 Most Improved – Luke McPhee

Special Merit Award – Craig Dawson Bennett

Congratulations to all the awards winners. The management found it very difficult to pick the award winners with two or three players in the running for each award. There are definitely some stars of the future within the club. We had some new faces joining this year with the likes of Donal, Fintan, Kelvin and Kyle showing that they will be award winners of the future. It’s fair to say that we worked with a fantastic bunch of players and look forward to what next year will bring. Special thanks to Pat and Joan O’Meara for being such superb hosts, to the organising committee and to all who helped out on the day. Congratulations to the Ladies Club on having such a wonderful year. They are all a credit to the Club and it’s great to see them going from strength to strength.

Ritchie, Eamon, Dave and Dougie would like to thank all parents for their support and help throughout the year. No doubt without you we wouldn’t have fulfilled some of the fixtures. Keep an eye out on your phones for any news on upcoming fixtures.

The AGM will be held on Saturday November 21st at 6.30pm. All nominations and motions to club secretary Steve Kane by Friday 5th November 2010 at 7pm. No nominations and motions will be entertained after this deadline.

Congratulations to our near neighbours Cloyne on winning the Junior A County Football title recently. Cloyne have had plenty of heartbreak in recent years in County Finals. Hopefully this victory will go some way towards easing the pain of those defeats.

Club Shop

The club shop will be open every Saturday morning at the Clubhouse from 10.30am to 12.00pm. Clubs flag, hoodies, polo-shirts, umbrellas, hurleys, hats and much much more for sale. They would make great Christmas presents and at the same time you would be supporting your local club.
