Glenville GAA news

Games were thin on the ground this week.U13 footballers had a game against Douglas and won out 4-11 to 4-6 played in Glenville on Sunday last. The Junior 1 footballers completed their league programme with an away game against a very strong Cloyne outfit, losing out 1-15 to 0-5 in the end. The highlight of the week was the U16 hurlers’ county final win over Courcey Rovers, great victory and well done to everyone connected with the squad.

The coming week sees a very busy programme of games with the semi final of the U16 football championship v Youghal on tonight Monday in Youghal at 7pm.Glenville will have no time to prepare after the hurling win on Saturday and will be up against it against a very strong Youghal side who won the county last year and lost the u14 final this year so an uphill battle in store for our lads.

Tuesday night sees the semi final of the U14 football against Carraig na bhFear. This game is in Fouhy Park under lights at 7.15pm.Wednesday night the minor footballers travel to Killeagh to play the home side in the league. A win here would see us in the league final so it would be nice to make both league and championship finals. Time for this game is 6.30.

Friday night the Junior Footballers play Ballyhooly in the Roundy House cup final in Ballyhooly. Time for this game is 7 30.

The Intermediates have three remaining league games and still have a chance of making the final if all three games are won. Possible game on this Thursday against Aghada, and the two remaining fixtures Beara and Na Piarsaigh to follow in the next week or two.
