Glenville GAA news

Preparations continued for the Intermediate side when Kiskeam travelled to Glenville on Sunday morning last for a league encounter. Balmy sunshine greeted them and a lively game of football was contested by both sides. Glenville started brightly and kicked a number of good points. Kiskeam kept in touch but a well manoeuvred goal from John O'Keeffe extended the lead to six. Kiskeam enjoyed a rich amount of ball for the remainder of the half and punished an overzealous Glenville defence time and time again. An interval lead of three points was wiped out directly after the restart when Kiskeam got through for a soft enough goal and took the lead with a point. Glenville at this stage began to take control and a closely contested second half ended with a late flurry of Glenville scores to win out in the end. Glenville 1-13 to Kiskeam 2-8.This gives us our fourth win out of seven starts in the league.

All the attention now turns to this Friday night when Glenville make the trip west to take on Graham Canty led Bantry Blues. This game is fixed for Kilmurry. A big improvement is needed from the Glenville side to overcome the Bantry challenge which will be a very tricky assignment but Glenville are more than capable of stepping up to the challenge and we expect a strong performance Friday night.

Friday 18th in Kilmurry at 7.30.Extra time if necessary.

The U14 team played Eire Og Sunday morning and went down to a strong Ovens side. The team play Nemo next Saturday away.
