Glenville GAA notes.

Sunday last saw our juvenile club organise a bus tour for the U14 and U12 sides in Killarney.A great day was had by all who travelled. The teams played two football games against local side Killarney Legion and both sides did very well winning the U14 game easily while going under to the local side by the narrowist of margin. After well earned post match bite to eat they then headed off to Fitzgeralds Stadium to witness an epic game between Cork and Kerry..Kerry staging a late charge to share the spoils.

As a result of this draw in Killarney the Glenville Intermediate championship against Bantry which was to go ahead next sunday will now go off.No date of yet has been fixed but the expectation is that it will go on the following weekend June 20th.With the hurlers suffering a heavy defeat to Youghal a very busy period of activity is on the horizon with the hurlers due to meet Castlelyons in the next couple of weeks also.A situation we certainly dont need but one which we are glad of at this stage with both first round defeats forcing the backdoor route to resurect our championship season.

The underage teams were very active of late with a win in the U10 league away to Youghal and the U9 team defeating Erins Own also away. The U8 team had a game against Whites Cross on saturday also and did very well while the affore mentioned U14 and U12s were in Killarney. For any details about getting involved in the juvenile section section contact Dave Cooke 087 6125719,as you can never have enough bodies involved.
