Glenville GAA

Action was very thin on the ground the past week with only a few juvenile games played. The U1O team had their first league game of the year when they played Kiltha Og on Saturday and lost out by a four point margin. The U9 and U8 teams travelled to Ballyhooly to play the locals on friday night and an enjoyable night was had made better by the pleasant weather conditions.

Cloyne U14s made the long trip to Glenville for a league game and Glenville were far too strong winning out 2-13 to 1-3 in the end.Hurling championship action takes place on friday night for these lads.

The juvenile club are taking a bus to the Cork/Kerry Munster football championship in Killarney on Sunday June 6th.The U14 and U12 sides will play local Killarney side Legion at 11am.Further details contact the relevant coaches and mentors.

The minor and U16 games are put on hold at the moment due to exams and will recommence game action in the end of june.We wish all doing exams the best of luck.Best wishes also to three of our players who were be in action in Pairc Ui Chaoimh this sunday against Tipperary,John Halbert plays with the Cork Intermediate side while Michael Goggin and Adam Murphy both line out for Cork primary team.We wish all three the very best.Best of luck also to Niall Griffen and Kevin O Neill who are both on the Cork U15 football squad. Also to Dave Cooke who is coach to the Cork U14 football teams.

With Intermediate hurling action v Youghal taking centre stage on saturday night,Glenville s encounter with Bantry is fast approaching.Unfortunately since the Mayfield defeat a few weeks ago,Glenville have been unable to get together,so hopefully a win against Youghal will get the ball rolling again. The game against Bantry is fixed for Sunday June 13th in Kilmurry.
