Russell Rovers Report

24 May, 2010

Russell Rovers GAA

Apart from a couple of challenge games, there has been little activity on the playing field to report over the past few weeks.

Best Wishes:

Best wishes to Kevin Moynihan and Rebecca Walsh who take part in the Primary and Camoige games at the intervals in the Cork-Tipperary senior and intermediate hurling championships in Pairc Ui Caoimh next Sunday.

Get Well Wishes:

Everyone in the club sends their best wishes to Matthew Fitzgerald for a speedy recovery after he sustained serious facial and dental injuries in a hurling challenge game between Russell Rovers and Aghada last Sunday morning week. This unsavoury incident is likely to bring a premature end to Matty’s playing season and with the first round of the Junior A hurling championship in just over a month’s time he is going to be sorely missed.

Car Boot Sale

The club holds its second monster Car Boot Sale of the year in the club grounds, Shanagarry on the June Bank Holiday Monday with bargains galore on offer.

JHL Div 1: Russell Rovers v. Lisgoold on Friday, 28th May at 7.30 pm. This was down as a home game to Rovers but is likely to be transferred to Lisgoold as our venue had already been booked for an U-14 championship game on the same date. Please check locally later in the week for up to date information.

Match Tickets:

All club members please take note that in future all requests for tickets for any Cork games must be submitted to the Club Rúnaí at least two weeks in advance of the fixture. This is the deadline for placing orders with the Rúnaí of the East Cork Board.
