CASTLEMARTYR BAG ANOTHER BRACE

LISGOOLD...............0-12

CASTLEMARTYR......0-16

The junior hurlers of Castlemartyr made a profitable trip to Lisgoold on Sunday evening last the 23rd of May, coming home with two precious league points.

In a game played in sweltering conditions, Castlemartyr did just about enough to clinch victory, but had to rely, as so often has been the case down throughout the years on Jimmy Smiddy for the bulk of their scores.

The Reds started well and by half time had a 9 points to 5 lead which they never relinquished during the second half. Best for the Reds on the night were , Kevin O Leary, who was a revelation at corner back, the Lawton brothers Brian and Barry and the aforementioned Jimmy Smiddy.

NEXT FIXTURE

JAHL Div 1 Killeagh v Castlemartyr in Killeagh, Saturday the 29th of May at 7pm.
