Junior Hurling League Div III
Lios gCul 0.13 Castlelyons 1.10
Honours were shared at Pairc Lios gCul on Friday night in the Division III Hurling fixture as our opponents late late equaliser denied us the brace of points on offer . A very entertaining tie saw the lead exchanged throughout as both sides provided a very respectable performance . The brilliance of Jamie Hurley at Full Back was the stand out feature for the hosts , as the Ballyedmond man repelled wave after wave of attack . Hurley was well supported by the ageless midfield maestro Finbarr Brosnan who hurled magnificently throughout . Up front , Eoin Hegarty poached three sublime white flags , each better than the previous , while John McCarthy was peerless in his central role . Peter Leahy , from play , from frees and from a superb sideline effort ( a la Ben O'Connor) must be forcing his name into Mike Woods' thinking for the first team already . A number of missed opportunities to put the game beyond reach towards the long whistle was punished as out visitors registered the levelling score late on to end a very worthwhile and thoroughly entertaining tie all square .
